Better selection, and filtering, for spectating Featured Matches

Those high elo matches you can spectate in the client main page, I think should have more than 5 matches to choose from, and also let you search for a match filtered by champion or player.

Why would I care, you ask? I started playing LoL maybe 6 months ago, and much of the in depth knowledge I have now was from watching the LCS and Featured Games, paying particular attention to champions I was interested in. This was extremely helpful, but there is only one problem; some champions just don't get any game time and you rarely get to see them played live.

I don't know what kind of limitations prevents Riot from showing more than a mere 5 high elo matches, but I'd like to propose a buff;

  • Show the top 50 ranked matches being played
  • Show the top 10 unranked/custom matches
  • Include a filter that lets you search for a champion(s) you want to see, or a specific player

I've read about/seen 3rd party replay programs such as BaronReplays and LoLRecorder showing the Featured Matches of every region, and also telling you how to search for and watch a particular player; but, the process to manually watch a player not on the Featured list is complicated, and you won't even know if or what they're playing till you do it.

I think this should be included in the client, but until then, is there a current and good solution to doing this? I'd like to know, so I can spectate live matches of champions I want to play better.

Thank you for your time, and remember, the only good Teemo is a dead Teemo.
