I'm not sure this a good idea and i'm not really proposing it exactly but i wanted to know how would you feel about being notified when your going to be demoted. i just got demoted and i had a feeling it was coming, Gold 1 has not been kind to me, so when it happened i just sorta thought what if a notification told you it was gonna happen beforehand. Would it have changed my play. I know this is a two-way street because you will always have people who will become toxic as hell for that game because of maybe added stress. But what if that stress helped someone win their next game maybe they would put more effort into their play or change their behavior to suit a more team driven style just wanted to know how the community feels.

You know what? Yes we need this. Especially since MMR is so dumb and I'll get on a hot streak but only earn 12-17 points a win. As soon as I lose, though, I lose 22-25 points a game. So here I am working my behind off to climb to diamond and then only to be demoted in TWO GAMES. TWO? I won 5 times in a row and got promoted! won my series with flying colors? So yes, riot can implement a system like this if their MMR system is so flawed.

I'm kind of opposed to demotions, because they just cause nothing but stress. Even if it's just a "hey, you lose and you drop rank" message, it's a bad idea. Best case scenario, it makes the person play like a pro gamer. Most likely, they will play as they normally do, but will jump down everyone's throat over the slightest mistake, since if they lose, you get dropped down a rank. Besides, if you've been in a ranking for ~5 games and you are at 0 LP, you are going to get demoted if you lose, no need for the game to "helpfully" remind you of this fact.

Edit: Realized I misspoke (mistyped?), meant that demotion series or warnings or stuff like that I'm opposed to, not demotions as a thing.

I like the idea of a demotion series too. But make it best of 3 and 5 like the way it is for promos. It would work exactly the same way but backwards.

I think it should be harder to get demoted that promoted, because between the afks and feeders you get it can be completely not your fault you went on a losing streak. I think you should go into a series once you hit 0LP, and have to win best of 5 without any LP gains or losses. If you win you are awarded 25LP and if you lose, you get docked 25LP. I realize this would not work at the diamond+ level but lets be serious, that's about 10% of the playerbase.

hm idk man. in my experiences, most people tend to focus on the negatives. Like you mentioned, i think it would add more stress and cause more toxicity if their demotion game isn't going well "/

I've thought this was something that should be implemented. I think it does tell you when you are about to be dropped from a tier for example going from Gold V to Silver I, but not from within the same tier like silver I to Silver II. Personally I feel like it could make you play both well and bad. You could play better knowing that you NEED to win this game or else you drop down, at the same time it could make you play worse, trying to force things because in the back of your mind you know you need to win so you are trying to force things like dives or force dragons/barons and end up paying for it or it could still work out, pressure is kind of a weird thing.
