The people who mock Dota/Lol

I won't be talking about the differences of the two games, and i won't say which one is better. It's your game. play it.

But i must share something with you people. No matter what playerbase you belong to, you are a disgrace to your game if you say the following: (these are real examples)

Dota player(s):

  1. srsly all kids who play lol are weak, dota is not for pussies.
  1. Lol is bullshit it is an much easier. Game compared to dota2 so f lol and there noob plaryers

But the cringe does not stop there...

Lol player(s):

  1. I played Dota 2 for 10 min, I just quit the game because of the terrible graphics, It looked so disgusting.

If you are one of those people who mock the other game in this disgusting way, you need to pull yourself together. If you use swear words while criticizing the other game, (which is pretty unnecessary in itself) you are degrading your own community. If a Dota/Lol player sees the other player curse and mindlessly spew hate at their game, they will assume that this is the avearage person who plays that game. And this is really sad, since it's not true. I saw countless people in lol that helped each other, were always positive and cooperating, and though i don't play Dota that much, i hope that there are good guys too.

There is no point on hating on the other game, because the players of it stick to it pretty hardly already, and all you will get back is hate. Try to find your own game, own genre or anything like that. Don't let other people hurt you and your game. Ignore this hateful, offensive scum, and have fun!

+1 to this. IMO there's never a need to trash other games or gamers when we're all clearly passionate about basically the same things. We all love games, we all love PVP, we all love MOBAs, etc. The more people we have in that group, the more fun there is to be had. When I was in the Navy, the were rivalries between communities, but rivalry was as far as it went because we had way more in common than not. When we wanted to trash talk someone, we always had the Army :)

Have you played League? Because that is literally the AVERAGE player in this game lol.

Not too mention, this holds true for most things. Like one sports team, the other is trash. Like one sport, the other is trash. Republicans always hating on democrats and visa-versa. This is just people in general lol.

I don't hate DotA, I just know its not for me. Turn rates feel reallllllly disgusting, but that's just my opinion.

The thing I really liked about Dota 2 was the deny mechanic , I think it brings a lot to the table in terms of complexity . Being LoL player and all , I never bothered to compare both games . It feels kind of pointless , since both games are great in their own way .

I see this in a lot of gaming communities. People get so defensive about the game they play, which is natural because they don't want it to lose popularity (or they want it to gain popularity) and they think talking poorly about the game's competitors will help that cause.

On the SC2 forums people will talk crap endlessly about LoL, and most of them have never even played the game! A lot of it I attribute to jealousy - SC2 tournaments get roughly the same twitch viewers that Bjergsen gets daily. There's a bit of an elitist attitude about the game and to be frank it makes the community really abrasive and it works against them, assuming their goal is to welcome new players.

You see it in politics as well. We just had a big election (I hope you voted!) and most of the advertising was focused on telling me why I shouldn't vote for X candidate, rather than why I *should *vote for Y candidate. It's a really backwards form of logic that just leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you see it. So much so that I made sure not to vote for anyone who had a mud-slinging commercial.

It's not about liking every MOBA, it's about not needlessly hating the games, and the people playing the games, that you might not like. Everyone has their reasons for liking the game(s) (Yes, you can like more than one MOBA,) they do. Just let them like what they like.

I would love to play Dota 2, but I don't like the UI. If that were improved, I might honestly give it more attention than the little I tried. Smite is fun, the third person view is a refreshing change. Dawngate is probably my favorite alternative MOBA to league, but unfortunately EA is killing that...

You don't have to hate something just because you don't love it.

I like both games for their own merits. LoL feels much better to play with basic movement being more fluent, while Dota have some very interesting champs and mechanics. Earth Spirit(Thresh and lee sin combined, can kick and pull teammates and enemies, shitloads of combo-based CC) and Invoker(10 abilities, plays kinda like magicka) would never exist in league, and they are extremely fun to play.

Dota is more frustrating as well (fuck you silencer :( ), losing gold on death, long CC, unforgiving abilities, some extreme damage things and many things are not very entertaining to play against, even if it's fun to play.

nah, Dota's VO is so bad it's like they want us to trash talk the game.

at least neither LoL or Dota are p2w though like a lot of the games out there now.

I actually tried out DOTA 2 for a short while. While the mechanics and teamwork of it was really fun and all, I absolutely HATED their community. I couldn't get a single game where someone wasn't acting like a stereotypical 10 year old Call of Duty fanboy, especially when it came to those "League vs DOTA" arguments. It got so out of control I abandoned my DOTA 2 account and went to League. I never looked back.

-Personal experience

I have been playing Dota 2 for about 1 500 hours, compared to a mere 120 hours on LoL. I hear a lot of League players trash talking about Dota (and the opposite is also true). I think, from my point of view, that Dota is better than League of Legends (plz don't kill meh).

HOWEVER, I think that LoL is a really good game nonetheless; the mechanics, heroes (or champions, sorreh) and types of plays are really interesting ! I enjoy playing League sometimes when I need to disconnect from Dota when I'm really tired of hearing people trash talk, because sometimes, LoL community can more fun to play with.

I'd like to thank League players who are actually in this game not to say bad things, but to have fun. Sometimes, having fun can be by a lost game (I've already lost a game in Dota where I met 4 guys, and we had a lot of fun laughing about our own mistakes).

This is all a result of the way games are marketed. If you look at things like 'wow-killer' or the 'console war', you'll see what I mean by this.

People are being taught that other peoples' opinions are wrong if they're not the same, and that leads to things like this.

My take on DotA is that, in general, I dislike the art style they use and I don't particularly care for the way they balance the game, and a few other issues like that. All personal opinion stuff, so not going to call the game BAD - that'd be silly - just going to say it's not to my tastes.
