Why Overwatch is a threat for LoL:
No thats not a "I am leaving for Overwatch" thread, since I did already and I dont want to make it a big deal, because I know noone here gives a damn about me anyway.
And yes, I now mentioned it, but stay with me, it has a reason: The point is, I never intended to leave LoL for Overwatch, but since I bought it, I just didnt play any more. Lately I kinda forced myself to play it again, after all, I loved the game, right? Well, turns out, I dont really... I played a few ranked games, and I noticed how much I actually dislike playing this game IN THE STATE IT IS IN! So, why did I not notice that before?
Because RIOT games was pretty safe to do whatever it wanted, there was no real competitor in the market, offering a casual game thats easy to get in but has an open learning curve where you can always improve. RIOT screwed with balancing, right now more than half of the Champions are just unplayable, screwed Item balancing to the point where most items are never bought, and screwed with the queue to a point where matches are really unfair before the picks and bans even started. And they know that pretty well, but they could always rely on "There is no othe rgame offering what we offer!"
Well, now there is. And its more fun, less time consuming and far less frustrating.
I dont want to say "Leave LoL, buy Overwatch", I want to make a wake up call to RIOT! Start listening to your community, and try to fix your game. You no longer have a monopoly position on casual gaming, you will lose people if you just keep up doing what you are doing right now. If you keep acting like you never make mistakes coughSHENcough, you will lose more and more people. It would be really sad to see that. Work on your balancing, work on your Item balancing! Alot of things are doomed beyond fixing, like the fact that every champion has to be balanced about CDR, but I think if you are trying, you could find a way to deal with that too.
