Community thoughts on smurfing?

OK, I understand smurfing, I myself have smurfed a few times to play with lower level friends I got into the game, and if there's something I've noticed it's that I HATE smurfing, especially when I'm invited to low level PVP games. I was a new player once, the game was new and challenging to me even though it was just against beginner bots at the time, and I chose to not PVP at all until I was about lvl 12 so I had all the summoner spells (Whats a summoner again?) and my first few PVP games were great, everyone was nice and accepting of the strange things that happened (Anivia Yi bot lane was way too fun at that time).

But now I'm a ranked player, a baby silver II ranked player, but still a ranked player. I played a single PVP on my smurf with my sister when she got into the game and since then I've not played any PVP on it, I felt terrible. Now sure, most people in low level PVP are also smurfs, but that's the thing, MOST of them are, not all of them, and I just hate the feeling of stomping new players, it's not fun or satisfying, It's just sad that I'm wasting my time ruining these new players first few experiences with the game.

It got me thinking about ranked smurfing, I AM just a baby silver II player, by all means I'm still terrible at this game, but the thought of smurfing in ranked makes me feel the same as stomping people who are new to the game, it feels morally wrong and I hate the thought of it.

Anyway, I'll get to what I want to talk about. A few hours ago I found a montage league video of someone playing against silvers in ranked games, the description stated they were smurfing and also had them mocking silver players, checking their smurf account, that person is now in platunim V. Why is it that some people get enjoyment out of beating people who are worse than them, why are people so desperate to look good that they have to make a montage of themselves fucking up the ranked games of people two tiers below themselves, KNOWING they'll stomp?

I just can't understand why people are so scared to go against people the same rank as them, instead opting for ruining other people games because "lol so easy".

So what are the community's thoughts on ranked smurfing? I personally find it disgusting, but what does the collective community here feel about it? Should there be more strict rules and punishments to ranked smurfing?

And before anyone says it, no, I haven't played ranked games since pre season came out, therefor I have not been a victim of a smurf recently enough to warrant a rage thread about them, this post was made because I found a video on youtube of someone ruining games for others for the sole purpose of making a montage to make themselves look good which got me wanting to talk about ranked smurfing.
