#bronzelife - How Riot breeds toxic players.

During Champ Select I stay positive despite being first pick and choosing top, I go bottom as the ADC:

We rock bottom lane. Get Dragons. Then suspiciously, one of the trolls starts calling for surrender and wins the vote!

Now this was the most suspicious game I've ever seen. These two people troll from the very beginning in champ select, then when it's clear we are in a good position to win the game, they call for a surrender vote and get it.

Half an hour completely wasted. It didn't matter how well I played or how badly the other team did.

Needless to say, reports will do NOTHING, and I will be matched most likely with these very same trolls in the next game.

Sorry but you are stuck with the players who:

a. Have no further to fall, and since they have no exposure to anyone but the worst players in League they never improve their skills and continue to feed

b. Trolls who troll every single game and are Bronze 5 as a result

The elo hells of every other division exist because the people there have hit a wall.

Bronze5 is hell because the people there don't care about winning and treat ranked games like teambuilder and do shit like try out champions they have never used and so forth.

Because winning games in B5 is reliant mainly on which team has more feeders instead of individual skill, getting out of B5 is a lottery, your just going to have to put up with it until you hit the jackpot.

Seems to me that the lottery is weighted against you.

In either event, I don't disagree with what you wrote, but my point was that if Riot really wanted to stop toxic behavior it would look at itself in the mirror first, because they are literally breeding toxic players in this manner.

Id rather have a bronze account any day.... Thats easy to carry Trying to carry a silver whom climbed out of bronze...THATS HARD. He knows everything...and 9-10 silver have never taken the time to even read the ITEMS in game. They play 6-8 Champions and know what items they build with them.

When a person leaves silver behind into gold..they changed their mind frame from " WHAT DID HE JUST DO WRONG " to " WHAT CAN I DO BETTER ". There are 120+ Champions, and most kids in the bronze - silver area have only played a 3rd of them on a consistent basis.

When trying to educate players in this skill level, the person committing the harmful act of HELPING, is always on the short end of the stick.
Well with rito, they use the long end against GOOD PEOPLE and let the RAGER/AFK/TROLLS walk with a " TEMP MUTE " Also in Silver, if you would like to play a champion such as TEEMO, 9/10 Lobbies you will be trolled because they assume a loss. They watched 3 episodes of LCS and don't see the other 100 champions as viable picks.

TOXIC only became a problem when LCS took off and LYTE put this MIND FRAME in every ones head. I can play 10 games in a row and not have a single person FEED/AFK/TROLL - But as soon as someone who plays to play LCS or reads posts from LYTE on REDDIT...we lose because he'll rage and BM vs playing because he thinks he knows more.

I hear you bro... I joined Ranked lobby... 4 of 5 people communicate. Someone instalocks FID mid AFTER we have NUNU jungle... ( IMO LOST IN LOBBY - I kept my mouth shut. ) I ask where fid is going...NO RESPONSE till last 2 seconds of the Lobby I rando picked GAREN...meh w.e FIDs AFK for 3 mins at start.... Fid Dies every 3 minutes for 34 minute straight While AFKING / NOT calling / NOT csing / NOT building counter

"15 mins in... I QUIT fid mid didnt work games lost just FF" THANKS FID...I AM GLAD YOU JOINED RANKED Q TO QUIT 15 min into a 30-45 min game mode.....

So now not only am I locked into a game that someone who AFK, fed, and QUIT PLAYING at 15 mins...I have 2 TRY HARDS bot whom make us play to 34 mins.

This is an on gooing issue that needs to be stopped. Why does RIOT keep using the same methods that have been proved to not work? Your talking about the people who thought letting 13 year old kids decide if you got banned or not was a GOOD IDEA!

If i could go back to just play one day of games without running into a LYTE prodigy Id trade my account.

Riot claims it's toxicity is down, but I argue that it's increasing due to riot allowing these toxic players to continue to play. Their reporting system needs a complete overhaul, and other than a post a few months ago, it's looking like they've forgotten about it, or is hiding behind ignorance of the system actually working..

i understand i just had a game go 60 min cause our top sion would help the enemy team anytime we started to do good. The thing that upsets me most is after we report him i look and the tribunal is still down. been down for so long i cant remember judging a case. Riot pls at least make it look like you care about the people who still support you. item 3151 lest get the comunity ban item 3022 back

i dont particualrly approve of a tribunal because if you dont play like the average player and happen to have a bad game and get reported there is a high chance you will be voted against. in the mean time its supposed to be on an automated system not that i know how it works or have much faith in it people turn into dicks as they get better too and harass people who are trying but gets caught in some bad situations their fault or not

Other than people blatantly misusing the Tribunal (thus having their votes discarded), this is false. I was a heavily active Tribunal judge, and not only did I see very few situations where someone was exclusively reported for playing poorly, not a single one resulted in a punish vote.

It wouldn't bother me nearly so much, if it wasn't for the fact that there is a very good chance, despite reporting, I will be matched with these same exact people again.

why do you think reports do nothing? maybe this was just one bad game? you cannot fault people on just one game or one report. just keep reporting them and if they continue to do this in other games its pretty obvious others will report them as well. you not reporting them just shows that you dont care about this behavior or think that there next game will have someone else report them.

I always report. Not sure where that came from. My problem is that reports rarely do anything.

Since I rarely remember the names or reasons, I started keeping a spreadsheet.

I found that I was being repeatedly matched with the same exact trolls as soon as I started to climb the ranked ladder.

then maybe you should try waiting a bit. usually if you queue up right after everyone leaves its a greater chance that youll end up with the same people. if anything play a different mode, or a different game after a bad match and more than likely youll end up with different people. Also your last sentence kinda proves you dont report them since you say it does nothing.

All it proves is that I'm a dupe, who despite knowing intellectually that my report will do nothing, still goes through the motions because contrary to your opinion, I do care about not leaving my problems for the next person to deal with.

I always try to encourage people to not just leave after the game angry, and instead do something, like submit a report.

but you aren't really saying that when you say Reports do nothing! they do something they just need a lot of evidence to prove it. if you keep reporting them and the system sees them getting reported frequently im sure something will be done. it just needs time to find out if its warrants it. like i said before you cannot fault people on one game. how would you feel if you lashed out in one game and that ended up having your account banned? it wouldnt feel right and it would be unjust since it was just one game. Maybe this was there one game, if its not then again report them and continue to do so if they are continuing to act like this and im sure something will happen just give it time!

When I get done with a ranked game, especially if it's with a troll on my team, I play a game of ARAM, then play another ranked game. At one point when I was playing ARAM inbetween ranked games, I went on a massive win streak and moved to B4 in one night.

However, the problem is not just playing a game once with someone you reported and blocked, but playing 2,3,4 and even 5 times with someone you previously reported and blocked.

see how your winrate is 48% in ranked? everyone in the game wins close to 50% that is how riot designed the matchmaking. if you go on a winstreak they will rig the games against you and give you a few with trolls to balance it out. you will never get far above or below 50%.

look up anyone in the game. riot is rigging the games against us all.

I care about winning, however, when I lose and everyone has played their best, I still enjoy the game, obviously, or I wouldn't still be playing...

...it's these INTENTIONAL AFK's and/or FEEDERS who sabotage games which make me mad.

you know what else was a waste of your time blacking out the names of the people on your team cause they appear in the lobby.

but i know that feeling so much negative people and 50% of the negative people play bad too i dont call people out and harass them when they are bad but whether you play good but made one bad play later on or you couldnt help it when they start harassing first the whole team usually buys into it joins them and magically they remember you making bad plays all game despite most of the arnt in lane with you or knows whats happening in your lane even worse when the guy who has been making repeated mistakes calls you out on one bad play loss of the game is some how blamed on you when the team gives up and forfeits. i dont much remember player ign because i call everyone by the champ they play at the time but the few note-able ones i notice i continue to get matched with them even after i have blocked some of them and reported them. i absolutely hate giving up be cause if its a bad situation ive been in it turned it around an won every thing short of 4 people dcing leaving me alone. 3 people dced before and me and another guy worked 5 guys and pushed for a win only thing i don t think i can turn around is my team minions to a turret then backing just cause of 1 or 2 champs not even poking or hitting the turret when they back off from the poke and when i decide to leave them and split push they mad cause they get advanced on cause they cant stay together enough so that one person isnt caught out

I don't see how anyone on his team could legitimately believe they thought they were going to lose. The only player on the enemy that was worth a shit was Master Yi; as a whole, OP's team was doing better than the enemy. Even OP's team's lowest CS is close to the enemy's second highest CS score AND that champion has more gold. Did you even look at the image provided? Even despite Master Yi's 21 kills, the enemy was still down by seven kills. That game was a guaranteed win for OP, and everyone who voted yes to surrender needs real consequences for that kind of bullshit behavior.

Apparently you missed the part on his match history right before they forfeit where Yi got a Penta (denied) and they were aced. The game had gone out to 38 minutes, as in when builds were almost completely done. Gold lead becomes less important, and that's the time when taking Teemo bot lane looks like a bad decision. When you're going an AP carry, you need to close early, especially in fucking low elo. Yi had a 7,000 gold lead on top, mid, and the support and a 5,000 gold lead on Teemo and the jg. I don't blame them for surrendering at all.

alot of losses happen just cause people see you pick a champion dont approve of your build and refuse to fight with you and the blame you when the feed enemies win the community is highly single minded in how they think a champion should play

Totally agree with what you say here. Majority of the games are feeling like stomp or be stomped games. Games like this are not fun to play when my individual skill feels like it has no input on the outcome. I feel the rage in my increasing game by game, little by little.

Low elo games are usually stomp matches because people in this elo feed early and feed hard, they don't understand that the earlier the kill, the harder the snowball. I approach all my games with this mindset, unfortunately even if I am 0/0 in my lane with double my opponents cs, ain't sh!t I can do about a 5/0 enemy Midlane coming top and killing me under my turret. Spectate any high elo match, during early game people will almost never play aggressively during laning phase, focusing instead on maximum cs, and will only go in for the kill either when their opponent makes a big misplay, or when their jungler has pinged. It isn't uncommon to see first blood pop up past 10 minutes.

Also, people dont understand that they MUST change their strategy if they fall behind in lane. It saddens me to see my team's Katharina fed Heimer two early kills, but is still trying to finish up her deathcap instead of switching over to abyssal scepter. In situations like this, I recommend these players certain items that mix offensive and defensive stats, and have received responses ranging from ”Ok, I will try it out” and them turning the lane around, to ” F*ck off, don't tell me how to play" and snowballed to the point that they are getting killed under their turret for the rest of the game.

some people believe that they can lose a member and still win and with that sysytem people of like mind will be together i find it very unfun when 3/4 games my teammates give up because they didnt have an easily seen win from 5 mins in. i get people who give up when we have 4 enemy turrets and the enemy has one
