Okay, so basically this is a minirant about the new Star Wars movie. Don't read anymore if you intend to see it still and don't want to have the movie kinda ruined.

That movie was shit. I'm sorry, there's no other way to put it. The special effects were great. The music was pretty good. But the plot was awful. What the hell was up with that? They took the main plot out of IV, the battle between Rey (Is that how you spell her name?) and Kylo Ren was pretty much taken from III, and finding Luke at the very end was like finding Yoda.

They made the movie diverse. People will argue that makes up for a lack of a plot, I imagine (well, a very small group of people. Not anyone with common sense). I don't give a fuck how diverse a cast is (even though it wasn't all that much, but still more so than the original movies) if the plot is trash. Honestly, that has nothing to do with this. I fail to remember why I brought it up. I go on tangents. Sorry. But seriously, what the hell? That was one of the most obvious cash grabs I've ever seen. Yes, I didn't have to watch it. Yes, this isn't the end of the world. But come on J. J. Abrams!!!

Put your comments below, and feel free to disagree or whatever. But I still strongly dislike that movie.

The safest movie since the prequel trilogy, nothing new pulled the story from the original trilogy.

Well, the idea is to somewhat mirror the movies from different trilogies. Feelings that it was similar to episode IV are intentional.

You may still hate it knowing that, but they certainly meant to do it. What I didn't really like was the cheesy dialogue. I do feel like they played it a bit too safe in the character department. I found Fin and Rey to be kinda empty as characters, and I wish we had more behind them that helped them feel more real. Especially Rey. She's a blank slate.
