@Riot Ranked Restriction Fails

Ahead of time, i'm not saying being restricted from ranked games is a bad punishment. The way to remove the punishment is horribly flawed though.

Alright so I read the Ranked Restrictions original post as i'm sure many others did and according to the feedback it got many thought it was an amazing idea, I myself agreed with it at first.

Let us get to the point without a wall of text though, it sucks. The idea is good, the way it works out sucks. The community does not treat normal mode games well enough for winning said matches to work out as a requirement. Players treat bot matches more seriously than many of the draft picks i've played. To put this in perspective a little, I was chat restricted for 60 games (I know I should've been punished, not saying otherwise) and rank restricted for 30 wins of draft pick. I finished those 60 games, most being draft pick, AGES ago and still have 10+ draft wins to go.

Here are a few images of my last draft pick. I'm not trying to say we lost cause of toxic players, I am saying there are so many in draft that it does hinder teams commonly though.

Until we have a better community I don't think needing to win draft pick matches is necessary. I would've rather had to play 60 than win 30.

If they're calculating a 50% win rate, then 30 wins would equate to 60 games.

They ask for wins, not games, to force you to actually try.

A compromise, perhaps: 60 games, 15 wins required? A 25% win rate would cause you to need to actually try, and not just afk farm all game, which is what Riot wants to avoid by instituting the win requirement. However, a monkey should also be able to win 25% of their games in nearly any format, as the skill level balances out over time, and there will be time when the opponents are worse than intro bots in addition to those players being on your team.

If they're calculating a 50% win rate, I still didn't meet it as said in my original post.

You say they want wins needed so people don't afk or not try but if they did something against the rules they could get reported and have their punishment worsen to the point of an actual ban. So making people win isn't really changing anything, i'm actually less inclined to try once my team slightly falls behind because I know a loss is worthless while i'm only trying to get the restriction removed.

Its not fun playing with a collar around your neck, knowing you're only playing draft so your master can release you for some ranked fun. It doesn't make me want to try and they act like one person trying will make a team win when there are 101 reasons for a loss.

I'll just put the one sentence up front, and we'll move on: You brought this punishment on yourself based on your in game behavior.

The compromise solution seems to balance both your concerns and Riot's. Riot seems to love their idea that the average summoner should win about 50% of their games, with the hidden ELO adjusting to give you an appropriate matchup that gets you (general you, not you specifically) to a 50% win rate over time.

I'm not saying the restriction is explicitly "60 games with a 50% win rate." That is just my speculation on the thinking behind the restriction.

This is why I explicitly use 60 games in my compromise ... that can be adjusted based on the level of ranked restriction they want to give a summoner. The 25% win rate should be easily reachable in all circumstances, which gives a nod to the idea that Riot actually wants you to try in these games.

I already said, but why not lets say it again, in my post that I understand I deserved to be punished for what I did and in no way am I asking for it to be removed.

I am however saying the punishment doesn't fit the crime. I was ranked restricted for verbal abuse, i'm sure, and me being nice and happy in game doesn't seem to be making me win very often if I can't win 30/60+ games.

You're apparently not reading the rest of my post where I propose a solution, so I'll just let you wallow in your own self pity, since that's all you seem to want to do.

Once again you seem to be a little under the normal IQ of a LoL player, and thats saying something, so i'll repeat.

I never said anything about your solution because it was a good idea, there was no need to go further on it. I did however respond to things you don't seem to understand, like everything else happening directly around you.
