What's With the Sona Hate?

Even before DJ Sona came out, I got massive hate for playing her. I remember once, I picked Sona and got kicked out of Team Builder queue 7 times just because of the pick. Even in Normals people rage at me for picking her.

Now I've been playing her in ranked and every time I pick Sona I get severe hate, from team flaming me all game solely because I picked Sona, or even intentionally feeding/trolling. Look at my match history right now. A loss as Sona where I win the laning phase but someone is busy raging at me for picking Sona. The other game we almost lost but we luckily came back, but I was being flamed the entire game literally just for picking Sona. I went 2/1 during the lane last game but Nunu intentionally fed the entire game (1/22/1 finish)

Reminds me of Season 1 where people would get banned just for picking Evelynn. I feel like I'm going to get banned for picking Sona.

Just mute them once the game starts and think nothing more of it. Many people who play League don't understand basic things like emotional control, so when they get burned by some idiot playing Sona they will be more likely to think badly of all Sona players.

It's a sad truth, but a truth we all have to put up with so long as we're playing with other humans.
