Never again, not EVER again...

so many thigns i dont understand and the game wont explain. like... why do minions do nothign whiel the enemies wail on me? Why is it i cant pop a health pot during combat? why do health pots get disabled if i take ANY damage? WHY DO I NEED TO EAT A TREE TO HEAL? why do i lose gold when i die? Why does it feel like when i use an ability it does no damage, but when an enemy uses one it instakills me? Why cant i recall, or flash, or have ANY helpful abilities? doesnt this mean that if a champ can outrun me and can kill me easily im jsut screwed? Why does practice mode with bots start off by giving me a swift kick in the nuts, then not let me practice CSing? Why does it feel like the game in general hates me? Why do i have to pick an attribute, ONLY buy that attribute, and never feel like i have a choice in what items i build, therefore locking me into a single playstyle with every character and giving 0 variance and no free thinking in game? Why do i have 30 seconds to look at items before a game starts, i mean jesus even in bots thats horrifically unforgiving. Why does the game in general feel slow, lumbering, and uncoordinated?

Why did i think trying DOTA was a good idea in the first place?

Im almost looking forward to the samey bleh feeling LoL gives me when i see the same 6 champs every game.

There are more differences between LoL and Dota 2 than between 2 typical FPS games. Your experience in one only counts for so much in the other. If you want to actually enjoy Dota 2 the same way you do with LoL, you need to spend more time actually learning how to play it.

Its been a while since I've played Dota2, but you can't recall because its not a thing. You need a scroll that will teleport you back. Also in Dota2 you don't need to recall as much because you should have someone buying the donkey that will bring the items to you.

Clearly you need to follow a guide to see what skills to upgrade.

Most of the other things are simple mechanics and ways they made their game different. You lose gold as a mechanic for them. The pots thing is again a difference that they have to make the game interesting. You can't expect everything the same. i mean many of the things you talk about are on items

DOTA2 has one of the most comprehensive and longest tutorials; much better than LOL or HOTS. I'd guess you probably didn't play through every step.

There are basic tutorials, solo mid tutorial to help you learn last hitting, and 5vs5 tutoial to practice heroes.

Yes, the only way to scale into lategame is by boosting your auto-attacks. Thus, mages/nukers fall off if they are behind enemy. That is why they are known as "nukers" and not "mages". They are good early game to shut down opponent to give your carry room to farm. That is why a lot of nukers either buy more nukes (when ahead) or more support/CC items (when behind).

Overall, you have to realize that just because you know LOL, it does not mean that you know DOTA2. DOTA2 has a lot of hidden and complicated mechanics that you won't learn in just a few games.

P.S. There is Flash in form of Blink Dagger and Force Staff. There is recall in form of Teleport Scroll. There are helpful abilities in form of .....Do you really want me to list all abilities from all heroes, or are you ready to go read them on your own?

Sounds like HotS might be right up your alley.

yupp that´s dota....keeping on outdated design-failures (that only exist in the first place because the game started as a mod for a strategy-game, so the engine hadn´t been optimised for the needs of a moba) and calling it complexity. The game had been good as a WC3-mod, but it aged rather horribly. But as some people still seem to like it - everyone its due i guess.
