As Ionia changes so must she. I was looking around earlier about some of the things that are related to things like perma and 14 day bans. if I recall right it said near the end "As a community, we also don't believe that retaliation is an appropriate response, so in cases where there is retaliation, both players receive penalties."

This is completely false. In most cases the community APPROVES retaliation vs trolling if one truely wishes to do so. Think it's about time you updated that.

The community is like karma; a bitch.

But anyway, no, the community doesn't support retaliating against a troll most of the time. When a troll gets someone riled up and a flame war starts, the chat gets filled with vitriolic nonsense that nobody likes, and both people end up muted and reported regardless of who started it and who the initial victim was (because in the end, everyone is a victim to that crap because they had to put up with it.)
