Riot: Can we have a discussion on Nasus' new VO?

So I've been keeping track on Nasus' VU since information was released and heard the new voice-over. Overall, I think it's... good. I feel like there's a bit too much reverb and filter, but the cadence and pace is similar to Gene's voice-over and I like a number of the new lines. It's a little more gruff to match his new looks, which isn't necessarily good or bad.

However, many of us players are very attached to Gene's voice-over. It's honestly one of the best voices in the game, and it's even more important to us since Gene's passing. A little part of Gene should live on in the game.

I think the best option we have is if you create a "classic" skin for Nasus, keeping Gene's voice-over. It can be a straight re-color of the new base even. Something in memory of Gene, if for nothing else.

I keep hearing people mention this Gene guy? Did he pass away or something? His voice is like velvet made out of baby bottoms.

According to IronStylus, there's basically nothing that can be done to save the old VO now, since Riot is so set on giving us this new one (and basically saying screw you Gene fans).

You guys have to keep something in mind. If you listen to his new lines, you'll see Nasus's personality is a bit different. If I'd venture a guess, given the future shurima event and his reworking to belong there (as opposed to another world), they might be changing his lore heavily too.

Maybe the old voice and lines don't go that well with the new lore and would seem odd along side it. I think we should at least wait until we have the full picture before lighting the torches and taking the pitchforks :x

New idea I had:

Maybe Riot could bring the new voice actor back in to record a quick line in honor of Gene. Something like what they did with Jaximus in honor of Joe's passing? The added line of "Here's to you, kid!" was such a good gesture. I think something similar would be great for Nasus and Gene.

I just don't want Gene to be completely removed from the game. It doesn't feel right to me.
