Because that will be a huge huge buff to bruisers. Champs like Lee Sin already only need 1 tank item to tank your whole team and still do crazy damage with the rest of their build. Buffing tank items will only make these champs even stronger. All rise Rene again? We don't want that lol.
Just nerf last whisper and problem is solved.

Jubbinaut4 votesThere's been some talk I've seen about a defensive multiplier item. I'm not sure if it's workable, but I like the idea, primarily because carries (of both types) have so many multipliers available to them, compared to tanks.
But I suspect the easiest fix may lie in adjusting penetration.

We also need to give a nerf to the Last Whisper, and Void Staff.
So, Nerf LW and VS, Better cheaper build paths for tank items essentially.
