OK SO APPARENTLY THIS THREAD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GAMEPLAY AND BALANCE SO I'VE HAD TO REPOST. Does the elo system not effect gameplay and balance? I guess it doesn't according to riot, but anyways...

This isn't really a QQ thread. I'm just dumbfounded on how I'm constantly on win streaks and losing streaks. Someone could easily point out that I must've been on tilt, but I've been spreading these games out throughout the week rather than grinding throughout a whole day and eventually getting tired, sipping on redbulls/coffee/being disgruntled. Is the elo system broken? I have no clue so I'm just asking. I remember playing a game in my gold promos and this guy picked a kat into annie saying don't worry I'm gold 1... needless to say we lost. What I'm really wondering was this guy actually g1 (which is why I'm asking about the elo system) or just high off his ass... I don't know. I have no freaking clue anymore.

Well, if you were in Gold promos it's safe to say he WASN'T gold 1.

Other than that though, not much to say. You're going to go on streaks because that's how luck seems to work. Riot also seems to match streaky players (i.e. a bunch of people on win streaks against a bunch of people on losing streaks that are currently at the same elo), presumably because if those on losing streaks just had bad teams but were individually correctly placed at their previously higher elo they would win (similar comment applies to the win-streak team), and thus the result of that match gives a lot of information to the elo system?
