Deep Terror Nami1 votesDisabling comments doesn't necessarily mean that the OP did something wrong (though sometimes that is the reason). It's usually because the discussion escalated into nothing more than destructive arguments. They don't want to delete the thread if the OP didn't do anything wrong.

they delete a thread when its against the rules.
in that example, there are multiple other threads about the downtime, so they just locked the comments, if they would erase the thread it would make them seem disengenuine, while leaving it open would add to the endless downtime spam.
