Support Question about Aegis Changes

Can anyone help me understand what you want Aegis and their upgrades for anymore? Is it no longer a support item? I can't be sure. Losing the HP on it really makes me not want to buy it (even after they removed the aura). I guess the shield on Locket is a lot stronger.

Anyone have any context for what they're hoping for after these changes? With no HP, it feels like it'll be a more niche / infrequently bought item.

Dunno what Riot's plans are and what they expect it to be used for in preseason.. All I know is if the changes get through as they are right now, I'll replace Locket with Crucible in 100% of my matches as it's active got a nice buff and seems to be more impactful overall.
