Sometimes... there are people who don't use reddit. And they have no idea how these forums work.
It would be awful useful to have a sticky explaining how to optimally use these new forums...that is if stickies exist in this format... I don't know if they do.
It might have answers to these questions:
- How are things ordered vertically?
- Is it just "most upvotes is at the top" or is it "most upvotes / how long the post has been around"?
- Is there a way to compress posts so that we can see all of the first lines of all children and sub-children (idk if they are called grandchildren) etc?
It doesn't seem to be chronological, but also doesn't seem to favor the most upvotes instantaneously. Maybe its the most activity?
Or are all of these things secret so people can't abuse the system to get their posts moved up? I don't care much which forums are the ones used as long as I understand them. The old ones were very straightforward: chronological order. Upvoting and downvoting is for indication of community favor or disfavor, with a negative voting threshold to remove toxic posts. Thats pretty much it.
