When I log in, why am I quickly redirected to/from the Esports site?

I always check the box to keep me logged in, so I'm already scratching my head why I need to re-log in every 2-3 weeks, but then as I log back in I always catch this particular URL:

https://login.lolesports.com/sso/login

Padding stats there.
