Teammates (Silver)

I don't want to be "that guy" and i don't want the negative comments that i know will ensue, but i cannot seem to comprehend why i can't win ANYTHING. My friend and i will duo bot and will snowball massively and take tower early. However, by the time that happens my top or mid lost lane already.

It has become a recurring theme where i win bot lane and usually end up with 5 kills more than their adc but i seem to ALWAYS have teams that lose extremely early.

I find it degrading as f*ck how im getting matched with people who cant even lane properly. I thought matchmaking was based on skill level. I didn't know i had the same skill level as a player who cant last hit properly. I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time someone asks what elo im in.

This isnt silver, this is Dirt 5 bc im stuck in an elo with players who can't click a minion correctly.

Obviously im ranting but riot really needs to find a more accurate matchmaking threshold based on skill because this is just disgusting. The fact that i end up with 150-200 cs in the time it takes my teammates to get 100-120 is just sad.

TLDR: The accuracy of matchmaking by skill should be improved ASAP because im finding myself losing games before lane is over simply because top or mid doesnt survive the first 10 minutes of the game.

It's all luck of the draw. I started this season in bronze 3, and I just got promoted to silver 1. Are there games that are going to be unwinnable due to teammates having a bad game? Sure. But it comes and goes. Sometimes those people will be on your team, sometimes they'll be on your enemy team. You've probably just gotten on a bad run, keep playing and your luck will turn around.

Simply put, their system is one of luck not skill. Anyone with basic knowledge of statistics knows if you put 5 random people from a large pool together and then only take the final outcome as each of their "skill level", it's all about getting lucky with teammates, not how skilled you are.

Personally I have avoided ranked because of this. I'd like to play it, but this game makes it way too easy for 1 person to screw the other 4 on a team. Without proper in-game analytics to evaluate player skills, ranked is not skill based, it's luck based.

Hopefully one of these days they'll actually put some effort into rankings and we'll actually have a real ranked system. Personally I've watched a decent number of D1/C1 matches and some of them are worse than B5 but they just got lucky enough to be there.

Also, it seems most of the top guys always (or mostly) duo queue because there is a lot better chance of winning if you have two really coordinated people on the same team. Continue to duo queue and just hope, that's your only choice with the current system.

As a side note, don't let it get to you about where you are ranked. Their ranked system would be more accurate blindly throwing darts at a dart board than it is now. It's just the truth when it comes to statistics.

in solo/ duo i would say ADC and support is where the weakest players should go. After all it has to people there for a reason ( to cover mess ups)If you are as good as u claim u should be in a high impact role.

Mid has impact in the mid through late.

Jungler has high impact early mod( sometimes late with feral)

Top. Mid game beast with late game impact.

Now here is the hard truth. ADC in the mid game is good for only one thing. Towers. and u need everyone to protect you. Now that protection does not mean they are in a lane with you. But that they have enough power where they should not be left alone. As an ADC you cant carry a game. U need people to protect you to do damage ( Again that is not a carrying).

So I would learn another role if you can out play your lane opponent. Take a role that can effect other lanes.

You have proved it enough with your story. The ADC lane does not matter if all the other lanes win.
