Is it possible to view another person's replays through your own client?

I've been looking for game replays to use to practice shoutcasting and with the new replay feature out, I figured it'd save a lot of time if I could just play other people's replays through my own personal client. Has anyone tried this/knows if it works? I'm hesitant to attempt it without knowing whether or not doing so would mess up my client.
