Hello, I'm SummonersFowl, that guy with the cringiest username on the Boards. Ill be discussing why I love and respect Riot Games as a company.

Riot Games, the founders of League Of Legends, is by far my favorite game company.

Interaction & Humanity

Riot Games is the company that most interacts with its community. Everyday Reds post their thoughts on the boards and talk with individuals. We see Rioters making things canon on the fly. Remember Graves' cigar? According to Cactopuss (Correct me if im wrong about the name) made Vaping canon for graves. Stuff that that shows that Riot does not act high and mighty and like a stuck up business. They act like human beings.

Admittance & Listening

Riot Games does mess up. Its a human function, we aren't robots. But the thing that separates Riot from other gaming companies is they admit their mistakes. Though, sometimes they need a little help from the community, but that's a good thing. In fact, its a great thing, letting the community dictate whats wrong with the game is great, it allows Riot to make the users happy, as they can't just sit around the office playing the game for themselves all day (Unless your a play tester) so the game becomes more or less balanced. Those were just my thoughts on everyone's more or less favorite game company.

People forget about how other companies just refuse to listen to their community. Riot at least occasionally listens.

Yeah... "to some"... the guys like OP that post positive things about them, people like me who don't have full flowers opinion of the thing, but have bigger love to one of their champs than anyone in the community, is ignored :)))

Pretty sure i remember ghostcrawler spending a good month answer criticism on a blind rage post about him. See if you can find "ghostcrawlers failures"

1 person gets direct attack and he replys, what a shocker, I need to find a dev and direct attack him? Actually the guy who I did, turns out quitted the Riot team and I cant even find contact with him anymore, because he doesn't work for Riot. And do I need to point out the name of each of the devs who currently are ruining my last 8 years of LoL in a single update? Is that how I should get the attention? Well. Okay then...

I don't think Riot cares if you like them or not. They really only care if you pay them or not. And even then they care only if you can pay them more.

Some pro players refuse to buy skins because it "disrespects the artists". I dont see them getting yelled at.

Honestly, I mostly agree here: while Riot definitely has room to improve, so does every company and every person, and Riot is trying to be more open with its community and listen to the community's feedback.

All this that you talk about is a mega corporate "business face", sorry to ruin your dreams. When you grow up and get into the mega corporate world, In time you'll learn all about business and you'll learn to smile to everyone regardless if you like or hate them.

It's their business plan to be humane.

True Riot died 3-4 years ago when they started to get big. I still remember the crappy first time riot videos of patch notes and the hype of the first cinematic ever. Back then it was two people and a crappy punch logo at the end of the video.

But they had a soul. Now they're souleless mega corporate terminator freaks. No pun intended.

We asked Riot not to increase the prices in our p*** poor EU regions, did they listen? NO. I ask Riot every time they ask for feedback for a new support female champion, do they listen? I'm waiting for 3 years maybe more. Answer is no, no no. Riot circulated a survey on the net in other sites playing with the idea to charge money, yes charge for limited game modes like Urf. Riot's employees act on their own behest alone, read around the forums to see what i'm talking about. Do they listen to people complaining about anything latetly really? I don't think so.

Why am i getting salty? I LOVE MY CHAMPIONS NOT RIOT.

Still waiting for Riot games to finally interact with me out of the support tickets, which aren't actually "riot games interacting" with you... Never got an answer from then than "You're permanently suspended" and later "But please make a new account and still play the game" ... That's what I call a conversation.

OH and btw, Riot Support admitting that Lyte made a horrible system doesn't mean Riot admits their mistakes, it means their lowest ranking empoyees do... and their word has 0 power in Riot games...

I didnt say they ALWAYS admit mistakes, but its a start. I really hope your account issue gets resolved and you can rejoin the game on your account. Best of luck.

Oh please... Lost 5 of my accounts for this and every single time they admit that the system is horrible and I should avoid using the chat... Why would someone at support char sit there and tell me that I need to stop using the chat, or the system will just ignore the fact that I either joke, or defend myself with a sarcastic remark and perma ban me? And I lost all 5 since Lyte's awesome system, haven't had any bans pre that and I play since Katarina's release...

And this is one HUGE mistake, which Riot Devs themselves wont admit it and fix the issue... Oh for the record I still wait for the mails on the last 3 accounts, not even one punishment got a mail... And sure, I'll "rejoin" the game, playing bot games to level up again... Meanwhile I played 3 bots game on the new acc till now and I literally had 3 out of 4 teammate each match, actually botting. Yes, botting... Not newbies who got no idea what they do, they were literal bots, they played and acted like a bot, the actual bots looked more life like... So give me one actual fail they did and admitted... For 8 years now I haven't gotten an answer or a post from a Rioter, answering one of the many issues I see and report... I get censored. So yeah, appreciated a lot, will this forum account get censored now, before I end my tale at end November now? Most likely yes...

My love towards Katarina, which is part of their game, was always unappreciated... How many people can claim they try to make hand made fanart after they haven't even drawn from 10 years? Or how many have spent hours and hours trying to implant their char in a different game and make awesome screenshots to share with the community? Out of just the love for the champion, not for money or for anything? OR how many actual started doing such a big project of a fanfiction on their lore like me? Who actually still do it and plan to improve and edit the whole thing? I bet not a lot can claim it, because most who "draw" the "awesome" fanart, sell NSFW copies of that same art.. SELL and make profit, that's why they draw it the first place... if you don't believe me go roam a bit at Devianart, pretty much a big chunk of the fanart has NSFW version SOLD for MONEY.

Which according to the RULES, of USE... Is stricklly ILLEGAL, as Riot games has full ownership over their chars and game and such "art" shouldn't be allowed to be sold for profit...

Making art about a game and selling it isn't illegal.

Also, I understand your frustration. I love Ekko and everything about him, i have mained him since release on multiple accounts, but he is getting a rework.

Instead of getting angry, I decided to practice DIFFERENT WAYS OF PLAYING HIM, just in case his playstyle changed. However like Kat, his playstyle didn't change.

Katarina will still be played the same after this update

She does play different. And you dont understand the frustrations of 8 years lost over nothing and the fact I wont be able to pick her for months now. Ekko is literally the same since release. Read League of Legends rules, of use on their chars. The LoL hentai which is sold on patreon breaks that rule in loads of ways... Because one of the rules states that sexuallizing the characters in a porn is NOT allowed aswell... THe rules im talking about are in the support page. Feel free to go seach and read them.

  1. Characters in LOL are already sexualized.
  2. Ekko has changed a lot since release, and I know the struggle of barely ever being able to play your main.
  3. Katarina will be played nearly the same way, but you will need to shift your safety from "E to Ward" to "E to Knife you left behind"

  2. He is literally the same since release, only small number tweaks.
  3. She wont be played the same way, 90% of the old potential is dead and you're forced to play her the worst possible way.

  2. No. I needed to relearn how to use his ult when they halfed the blast radius, there were also many other changed that I needed to take into account (Also, he is getting a rework too)

  1. examples, if you say Katarina, then you are instantly blocked from communicating with me. 2)Everything is the same, not even 1 spell is changed, while Katarina gets 90% of spells/combos change. 3)You don't know her know or know how she feels now, to be a judge of that even if you got PBE access.

Kitty Cat Katarina vs Copslays, isn't sexualized. Cosplayers sexually it by getting a half sized top with a V cleavage, which doesn't originally exist, the shorts, are changed either to a miniskirt or nearly bikini like size shorts, which is 1/3 of the original size, plus they don't have a majority of the belts.

I assure you, if you see a cosplayer in a PROPER Kitty Kat, outfit and you're not horny as hell, you wont see it as "sexy", but more like cute and adorable... which it is actually, my only feelings towards that skin is the need to cuddle/hug her, as it's cute and furry and reminds me of my actual cat.

And her default skin Is sexualized by cosplayers as well, by changing her boots to high heels and her top to either huge cleavage which it originally doesn't have, or simply putting a bra and nothing else...

Pretty much only Janna and Nidalee are sexualized in any possible term. And Ahri is sexualized only, because the actual Kitsune legend, so basically she's...just her...

Gladiator Draven and Pantheon could be considered sexualizations aswell, but then you go and watch the gladiator or 300, and realized... it's a legit outfit... Kay den? Kay.

I kinda wish Riot had some type of live chat support like most other companies do. But it would be really difficult to manage.

Live chat will mean Riot support, Not riot. Riot support got 0 power and the lowest rank there... ANd it's pointless, I hold the record for longest ticket in LoL history and there was 0 point, because the main answer I got is "We don't have communications with the devs and cannot do anything about it, try posting on the boards" (3 pages with over 50 replies, still waiting for my wall of honor badge)

Riot is owned by a chinese company called Tencent so they don't really get to do what ever they want the report to Tencent now

That's not how it works... Tencent doesn't control what changes are made the the game. That's all the devs, Tencent only make business decisions like marketing and merchandise.

They may not have creative input to what changes in the game but the fact they make business decisions can effect how smoothly and how fast new content, balancing, etc. is created. For instance if Tencent said you have to pump out 12 skins per month and do LCS 1 more day for each region. Riot's structure has to change hiring more artist and such for skins and laying off those who work in departments like balance and new content if they don't want to spend more money. It isn't a direct effect but Tencents desicions do play a role in how things are done.
