Proxy Singed Help?

Hi, so recently I've been playing Singed and I really enjoy him. I'm at level 4 with him right now but the thing is, I don't know how to proxy with him. I know what proxying is, it's when you run behind their tower and farm minions there. But I don't know how, when and how to escape enemies while I'm proxying. I've only tried proxying once and it went really badly -.-. I ended as 0/7/1 with a loss. I felt like it looked like I was intentionally feeding and I would be pissed off if I saw a Singed that was feeding in the enemy jungle, and I wasn't intentionally feeding but trying out proxying. Every time I tried to proxy I had 3 champions on me ASAP and I would die. So my questions are:

• When do I proxy?
• How do I proxy?
• What do I build first as proxy Singed?
• How do I escape the enemy?
• Any tips?
