It's not so bad, i got up to 95 lp five times before my teams randomly fed and afk'd until i got down to 12 and then i climbed back to 90. I even got into my promos once and lost one game because every lane fed and the other our support Nautilus was on the phone with his friend who wasn't even in the game the entire time.

I have a high elo friend (Master-Challenger Tier) who frequently smurfs with me in normals. When I asked why he smurfs with me a lot, he said:
"The queues are 50 minutes long and you can never make mistakes in a game. If you DO make one, people will punish you hard for it.
Here, its chill. Most of the time, no one cares if you mess up. Feeding one kill early doesn't matter as much. You lose less hair ETC."
Not an exact quote (much more swearing), but thats the gist of what he said. Honestly, my goal is Gold 5 next season just for the rewards.
At least it doesn't read "wood" --- THAT is a bad omen.
And believe me when I say "wood" shows up more often on street signs than "silver".
