Should have used the one with Nicky punching himself from the movie "Little Nicky" where he's a demon competing with his brother demons.

That GIF's unsettling but I can't stop watching it.

It reminds me of my occasional visits to parts of the web like WPD on Reddit, and its content feed sites.

I Don't understand his super power, if his skin is like a Solid, then he shoudn't be able to move, if its unpenetrable then that punch should've dealt damage to his face.

Ever heard of "suspension of disbelief?"

Anidan2 votes

I'm not him, but I know I have, but sometimes that is hard to maintain for me. Every time I hear that the Flash goes faster than the speed of light I cry a little inside.

But ultimately, suspension of disbelief has to be done.

Nightshade Rose2 votes

Nope. What is it though?

Essentially, whenever you're dealing with any fantasy or "magic" element in a story, you are supposed to throw conventional wisdom to the curb, because in the real world magic doesn't exist, so how are we supposed to know how it should work?

That's suspension of disbelief.

Well in latest Dr. Strange Movie Magic is bascily sience just from diffrent perspective. Basicly magic fallows same rules of phisics, but instead of using machinery to do things, they use energies that can form matter, and twist space-time.

Erractic Eick1 votes

True, but what applies to one Marvel hero does not apply to all of them, and thus we continue with Suspension of Disbelief.

Nightshade Rose1 votes

wait wait wait they grounded entire marvel universes magic based on science not just Dr.Stranges magic.

I believe his skin was described at something like Water Tension taken to an extreme. His flesh still acts like a normal human body but the way it's held together at an atomic level is vastly stronger than normal. Therefor it doesn't split to punctures and disperses energy from blows.

striking water at certain speeds makes water tension equivalent to striking concrete, and that is what his skin is like. Even if he gets blown away, because his body is held together so well it doesn't break or tear, he just gets bounced like a ball. Obviously there are limits to what he can tolerate and all, but that's the gist of it.

In truth if that was all his ability was then technically his head would have been turned in this shot as well. not taking damage from the punch is not the same as not taking force. but due to his super human strength he ate the shot by negating the force with his muscles and his skin negated damage.

sadly a lot of this is "sounds like a lot of excuses." but atleast they're not mine. I didnt write his super powers or the science, just explained it as they were presented.

Nightshade Rose2 votes

But his skin is still sucseptible to poison, fire or radiation right?

Sinlaire1 votes

his skin doesnt break and his muscles are strong, but it doesnt stop being skin.

IT can still freeze and burn. it's still made of tissue. chemicals and radiation waves can still penetrate.

thick steel cant be smashed or pierced but it can still be melted, corroded, and penetrated by gamma rays. He's still human. He just has a higher threshold for the minimum effort break him apart.

he's the difference between pig iron and high carbon steel. His body is atomically bonded in a purer and stronger level, but it never stops being Atomic Fe (Iron). The body is still human, just sturdier.

he is a magical being known as oobleckman

Tin of sardines1 votes

is just him using his muscles. he has super strength, so he can act just like a piece of solid metal. beside, you never heard of composite material, fibres and it's wonders? at least that "if his skin is like a Solid, then he shouldn't be able to move" isn't true if his skin was made of ferrofluid. Now, how do you feel about league...

Gotta Love Luke Cage! Despite being from the first episode, this was probably best scene in the whole series...
