No, there are not "two guns" simply because he's adding parts. He's changing the original gun into another one. That does not mean it is EVER more than one gun.

Unless he can outright construct 2 separate guns with the parts he immediately has available (which he cannot), it is one gun with quick attach mods.

A scope on a gun is an optional attachment to improve your use of the gun. A mod in Skyrim is an optional attachment to improve your enjoyment of the game.

Neither is required to make use of the item. Neither is required for the complete item.

An optional attachment, or mod (short for modification), can change how the gun is used. That does not miraculously multiply the gun into a second one.

You don't get a second computer by adding an optional video card to improve the visuals you can get. Why in the living hell would that suddenly change for firearms?
