i can't believe i didn't see that piece of lore coming when its so obvious that the corruption was darkin in origin.but then again it wouldnt have been known if we didnt have another who is fighting that same thing to verify that darkin are inside weapons

His bow. It's been confirmed with Kayn's release that the Darkin are sentient weapons that corrupted their users (Aatrox appears to be the permanent corruption, but Aatrox himself is the sword), and Varus appears to be half-way into corruption from his bow, which is another Darkin if Kayn's VO towards Varus means anything.

Exactly my thoughts. Varus should get a little VU to fit in with Aatrox and Rhaast/Kayne. (And shouldnt there be a pre-corruption Aatrox? :o) Really like the idea with the weapons. Remembers me of LotR.

I really do have to wonder what it is that draws a warrior to the Darkin, or vice versa. Varus was a legendary archer, Kayn is currently an adept shadow warrior, that only leaves Aatrox's host. It's possible Darkin go after amazing warriors and utilize their skills, as suggested with Rhaast being able to use Kayn's shadow walk and other techniques unique to him. It's possible Aatrox's host was either not worth mentioning, or a legendary warrior we've yet to receive context for since we don't know what he was capable of before the corruption.

Wait, did they change Varus' lore? He had nooooothing at aaaaall involving darkins last time I checked...

Edit: checked a lil bit the new lore... darkins went from the 3 literal gods of war in runeterra to mere corrupted weapons... even Aatrox's lore is getting nerfed wtf
