There's a species of crab on Christmas Island (I think) near Australia that live predominantly in-land but being crabs they have to migrate to the sea to breed. Because of this they annually swarm to the sea when their mating season rolls around creating giant swarms of crabs.

In Miami this happens every year with land crabs. They have a giant land crab invasion and they fall into our pool and shit. I couldnt even drive one time because the land crabs would pop your tires. I have to get a plow and shovel them out of the road.
