Probably the most accurate opinion. Have you ever seen Tumblr? They practically worship the game. I liked the game, but it isn't perfect.

It's cute. Tumblr's full of blogs dedicated to producing artistic content without a minimum quality bar. People like the characters and want to do their own take on their appearance, or want to add a new development to the somewhat sour or mysterious parts of the story. The lack of voices makes headcanon voices so important and shareable. It's a game that has a lot of value into the reaction and perception, and it's great to have a way of sharing that with others.

Holy crud, that's the best review anyone can give for Undertale. Doesn't over hype it, recognises it's a good game and also doesn't spoil it.

Fan bases kill things. Toby Fox is hiding from them. Seriously. Great game, has issues, but FUCK. THE. FAN. BASE. They killed all the charm in it.

Undertale is a charming, brilliant and well crafted game. The fans have made no secret of this, by bombarding all sorts of boards and pages with positive reviews and references to Undertale. And the went on, and on and on about it. Undertale is also the type of game where it's most effective when you know nothing about it. The majority of the fan base did not understand this, and spammed references and spoilers anyway. They also silence negative reviews, or at least act they're just ignorant of a good game. Undertale fans also just sort of burst in from out of nowhere spamming spaghetti memes for no reason, far past the point where it got more annoying to some then even FNAF's fans.
