As cool as Nami is, my go-to support has to be 
He's pretty much great with any ADC. He can deny kills and cannon minions. He can stop a 5 man gank with his ult. He can turn a trade into a kill by landing a Q or auto.
And most of all... he's got the moustache to back up all that glorified man.

On the topic of supports, I like Leona. I just love jumping into the enemy team, sowing confusion, chaos and cc, while my team picks them apart.
