This is pretty accurate.
The best way to eat such a monstrous ice cream?
Lick (veeery carefully) around the sides (Don't push, skirt around it), ensuring that you evenly lick all sides. Your Saliva (and the flattening of the ice cream's sides) will strengthen its integrity slightly, and ensure you do not cause its collapse. As might be easy to imagine, keep movements of your hand to a minimum, walk slowly, no abrupt starts or stops, etc.)
Once you've hit everything, begin removing pieces from the top (making sure to apply as little lateral force as possible).
The trick is doing this quickly, the hotter your environment (rip California), the quicker you must do so before one side (the one facing the sun) inevitably melts faster (You can reduce this effect by slowly rotating the ice cream as you consume it) and causes it to collapse one way.
Whatever you do, don't get a takedown before you kill yourself, else you'll lose those stacks too.
