yeah but with ap malzahar you do all the same stuff and your aa to turrets do stuff now that they buffed mage aa on turrets

AD Malzahar still pushes tower faster with his Minions he summons.

Your abilities don't need to do damage, they all have utility that you can exploit rather than having to save them for damage. Your enemies are either suppressed, dead, or making their way back to lane. Let your voidlings do the dps.

AP champs are nigh unplayable this preseason.

In any case, Malzahar's W still does decent damage even without any AP at all. It's % max health damage, which is always relevant. He also happens to have one of the longest silences in the game, and that's not even getting into his ult.
