I miss 5.0 kog'maw :( Also, Rammus didn't counter Kog'maw's dmg. He built more on hit / ap than ad / ad damage.

Actually, Rammus was a perfect counter to machine-gun Kog'Maw. Kog'Maw's non-on-hit damage was cut in half, and he attacked twice as fast. Rammus' Defensive Ball Curl makes auto attacks deal up to 65 damage to the attacker, +10% of Rammus' armor, while also increasing Rammus' armor and magic resist by up to 120. Add in a Thornmail and a few other defensive items (MR or mixed Armor/MR if Kog's building AP), and Koggles is literally murdering himself.

It wasn't the fact that he counter kog dmg or anything, it was more the fact that on a full build rammus, thornmail + W meant that you deal at minimum 200 dmg PER AUTO. so basically in 1 second rammus dealt over 1k damage via kog hitting himself essentially.

And with a 2.25 second taunt, that's over 2250 unavoidable damage. And on-hit Kog'Maw doesn't build much health.

I played alot of rammus in the adc meta where there was 3 adc's in one game. Fun times. no one could come close to me XD

Theoretically speaking, mixed dmg is supposed to beat Rammus, considering you need a lot of MR to survive his W + Thornmail when you unleash your onslaught on him. http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/782/935/ce2.png
