His attack speed is slow and his range is very short, but he's still technically "ranged" (so he can't use Relic Shield). His overall DPS just from autos is still quite low and is basically melee.
It's so he can capitalize on Xayah's attack speed boost she gives him while still building support.
Base stats are weird. Kayn has the base mana regen of an Enchanter support. Soraka has the lowest HP regen but she literally gives her HP to others. Talon has 7 more MR than everyone else because he has to survive in lane against mages... like everyone else. Why does Irelia have 200 range?
And don't try asking anyone around here why Pyke has the highest base armour in the game. All they do is say 'But he can't build HP'. I know he can't, why does he have the highest armour? He can build that. No one has ever answered my question as to why the dead man has higher armour than a living legend carrying a magic shield, a metal robot girl or a rock.
