It was mostly slowed because a friend of his who supplied him was killed.

Oh. I thought the FBI raid on his home where they took all of his weapons and put him under investigation for being a potential terrorist was what axed him.

That's a real shame in both cases. Hope he's still doing alright.

He slowed down way before that, but the raid was probably the last straw. I think he was gone for about 4 months before he tried to make a video to cheer himself up and his fans.
