Well to be fair, if you are going full armor Malphite then you are going Physical Damage with Malphite because Malphite's empowered AA's are physical. Everyone assumes he is full magic damage, but even if you go hybrid ap/tank he is hybrid damage types.

That's why you have to build both resistances against him during lane phase, and why for the earlier part of the season Malphite was the FotM Cheese champion.
