You know what makes me sad about this post.... Riot has stopped make or started removing funny off-builds like this and only few old champions still have this style of one trick pony builds to them. Tristana MissFortune both lost there original AP off-builds, where they would kill just using magic damage from their previous abilities. Jhin could have had some fun as hell ap builds, if the ap scaling was higher, since his ad build scales much better on all abilities. The reworked Poppy now only has one ap scaling ability that has a enemy action requirement in order to deal damage, that could have had an hilarious ap ratio and still not totally breaker her vs every match up. Shen had much more ap scaling options in his kit... then he took a rework to knee. Now he really does have a one trick play style and a floating sword to go with it. When I first saw Illaoi , I was thinking she was going to have a ap ratio somewhere in her kit.... Nothing. She calls tentacles out of a relic, has glowing tattoos and has no ap build paths..... I would have love for her to have a one trick pony build path, like her 'e' having a 150% or higher ap scaling so you can live the dream of if you kill someone's spirit that isn't a tank, the owner well die if they did't stop you or run away fast enough.

So all I can say for you remaining one trick ponies like AP Rengar and AP Hecarim . Say your prayers that you don't get reworked, cause your probably going to lose the fun in those builds. Malzahar can attest to that.

I do miss those off meta builds, Exept for AP Trist and AD Malzahar cuz I can still play them and make them work baby ;)

Yea AP Trist is a given. Old Trist would just jump on you 'e' and ult you away like an AP assassin. Her one trick. New Trist needs to charge her new 'e' that still scales with ap and ad, lost it's grievous wounds, deals physical damage, requires 4 auto attacks for full charge and had some of her AP scaling on her ult removed. Well thats more than one trick where you may actually need attack speed to use properly. She can still work, but they went out of their way to weaken that build and even came out and said they didn't like her ap off-build in the video of the patch her rework came out on.

But Malzahar on the other hand.... To me, he feels nothing like he use to be. Before you build ad, your voidlings hit like trucks and they could tank more than one hit when full grown from towers and could shred them to, with the downside of all your other abilities hitting like wet noddles. His one trick. Now you have more but much weaker voildings that scales with both ad and ap. They scale just as good with AP as they do with AD!!, so you don't have to have wet noddle abilities if you build AP. Before his voidling were his one trick, if he ulted you with 3 voidlings up, you where dead. Now their just their to gate his sustained damage since it takes 2 or more voidling to deal anywhere near the same damage as one of per-rework AD malz voidlings. But hey, at least he can clear jungle like a god now, even though they nerf him for it. But I can't really call him one trick now, when its being so gated.

I'm pretty sure that the voidlings' damage procs Muramana now seeing as they apply spell effects, although more testing is needed as I couldn't find anything concrete to back me up on the Internet.

So that's a plus to AD and hybrid Malz if correct
