As someone with a lot of success in plastic division as a Yi main I can confirm that CC will shut him down, but you have to FOCUS him after that. If you're teamfighting and don't know where the enemy Yi is then try and save some CC. A good Yi will try and sneak around from the sides or behind and wait till most of your skills and CC's are blown, and then charge in.

Alternatively he may just be counting on his team to just hold you off so he can splitpush a side lane.

The 0/4 Master Yi Alpha strikes and knocks your entire team down to** half health**

.

half health

You do realise if he actually can't kill anybody after using Alpha to net the refresh, he's toast right? This is why Alpha is usually used to dodge CC and bursts, and being used as a finisher (or that they gamble the next 1 or 2 attacks could kill) rather than a burst in any environment with some skill.

Because if his Q goes out prematurely, by then all he mounts up to is an AA bot who can root himself with a channel that can be broken by any hard CC if he wants to heal. Meaning, he's might as well be a super minion who just attacks and runs faster.

His Q can not be used more than once in any fight without refresh, because the CD is pretty darn long and Yi never builds CDR due to itemisation prioritising AS, on-hit, raw AD and/or crits, which don't usually come with CDR.

And unfed Yi like 0/4 is practically dead weight. He can't kill anybody, he has 0 CC to begin with so no other utility, dies first in any fight with that kda, nor can he really splitpush. He's utterly useless at that stage. And if you still have issues with a Yi like that.... well, let's just say it's not Yi's problem.
