Can we have an honest talk about all forms of point and click CC

I think one of the worst feelings in league of legends is feeling like there's literally nothing you can do to improve your situation. How can you enjoy a matchup when there really isn't anything to outplay. Are you an adc farming in a side wave? Teemo has been hiding in the bush near your turret for 2 full minutes, and he steps out and blinds you. It doesn't matter that you quickly retreat, use any dashes in your kit to provide distance, assuming he isn't 0/27, he's probably going to kill you. Are you rocking it in the mid lane, going for good trades, even doing well? Well too bad, because Malzahar or Annie just hit level six. And with a summoner 4 ultimate, followed up by the same from a Vi , you're going to die. There is nothing you can do about it. Now they are ahead, and you have to play on the back foot. God forbid either of these two snowball, then good luck even trying to farm. How about a good old Lulu polymorph in the bot lane? Nothing says Fun and engaging counterplay like not being able to dodge a form of cc that lasts long enough to guarantee a lost trade.

I could go on, but my point is, there's no fun in these situations. Are these broken? No, of course not. Whether or not they are seen in pro play is irrelevant because pros get paid to play. Theres a feeling of satisfaction when you time out Caitlyn net or Lucian s dash with a solid prediction to land your Taric stun or Morgana Q. There's a rush when you finally peg that slippery Katarina with your Xerath stun and get your combo off. Likewise, positioning to sidestep Riven 's third Q or Darius 's ax feels good. When you get hit by a Lux you can figure out where you went wrong. But with point and click cc, it can be hard if not impossible to avoid and/or figure out how to not get caught again. Malzahar was out of control at worlds last year because even pro players were struggling to cope with the summoner 4 ultimate combo. These things suck the life and fun out of a laning phase or even an entire game. Point and click spells in general feel face-rolly and leave little room to maneuver. And I think Riot understands this. When was the last time a champion, besides the last ryze rework, was released with a form of hard CC that was point and click? Longer then I've been playing the game. Even Camille's ultimate you can still move and outplay her within the confines. (another champ nerfed into irrelevance but that's a topic for another time)

Again, my argument isn't that it's OP (although the argument is there for some), my argument is that it is no fun for anyone. Not rewarding for the player using the ability, and frustrating and sometimes seemingly uncounterable to the person on the receiving end.

Any thoughts?

I mean point and click cc is needed, bc it keeps mobility in check.

If Teemo has been in that bush for 2 whole minutes, he deserves that kill tbh.

The game needs point and click CC as counterpicks and as tools against champions like Yi, Riven, or Yasuo.

There was a time where we had 3 times more point-click abilities, but Riot removed them, like Taric's and Ryze's Q.

I'm not making a point, just remembering the good times in Old League.

Without point and click cc mobile champions will run rampant. Like for real. Imagine if you have to catch a good lee/yasuo/kalista/riven/fizz/oranyotherhypermobilechamp with skillshots only.

there is literally nothing wrong with point and clicks in fact we need more of it

skillshot CC is overabundant and cucks melees while ranged champs get a free pass to avoid it

They removed a lot of point & click CC but some are still needed so mobile champs aren't impossible to lock down

For most, I'd agree, but someone like TwistedFate needs it given that it's the only way for him to deal with a mobile champion, and it's a huge part of his dps. Without that gold card, TF is just about worthless.

It doesn't help that Twisted Fate is literally the worst midlaner right now, but that's besides the point. lol

I'm amazed you didn't mention Lissandra.

Her ult is one of the most powerful cc abilities in the game

Problem is, it's pretty much mandatory to prevent bullshit like Kalista , Yasuo , or Riven from running around freely.

I have only problems with ranged point and click critical strikes.

TLDR "i want everything to be a skillshot so that whoever has the most mobile champions and better reflexes wins every single time no matter what"

Ya most people I talk to say that point and click champions are boring too. I have a friend whose in diamond, and always does really well with Malzahar, but he always says it is the most boring champ in the game. Prolly because of the stuff you are talking about.

Point and click CC mages are the only real counterplay that mid lane assassins have though.

Like Fizz would actually have zero counters in the mid lane at all if Lissandra Annie Malzahar didn't have point and click CC because he can shit on every AD mid to lol.

No mention of Lissandra? Okay then,
