UGH, it is the most demoralizing thing to lose lane against a Talon as Swain. I hate it, I absolutely hate it.

He's supposed to, but you really can't punish Talon early if the player has any knowledge of their champion. Talon has relatively low damage pre level 3, and that's when you want to punish him, but, since Talon has a significantly higher movement speed, he can just walk out of your W, and can break Q easily.

Swain is far from a hard counter, and it really is only in Swains favor pre level 3.

Same thing happened to me as Swain Vs Ahri. Usually he hard counters her, but it turns out if she plays safe it's an even lane. All Swain does to her is out trade hard when he gets her locked down, but without that opportunity there's not much to do, and her farming is better so she can get 6 earlier, giving her kill pressure against Swain she usually doesn't have.
