The Champion Faceoff #1 - Counter Jungle

Hello there, I am Phioxsyn. I am someone who is absolutely terrible at this game, and feel like I am actually capable of being way better. I understand a lot of different things with the game, I am just bad at putting those things into practice some days.

So what is the point of this post? Well over the next several days I am going to post "Face offs" between champions. I am going to select a few champions (usually 5) and give them a designated task. I want people to describe which champion they feel accomplishes said task the best and why within given parameters.

This will give me and anyone else who reads it insight as to how to put these champions into use for that specific role. Some face offs might be "off-meta" for those champions but that is where the fun is. And I know some tasks will not be the best way of playing certain champions.

Now when people post who they think accomplishes the job best and why, I want people to chime in as "devil's advocate" to try to shut down their arguments. I'll consider upvotes for arguments as the deciding factor of it being a valued strategy, as well as upvotes for arguments in their discussions. So if you like the idea and think it would work, don't be hesitant to agree with it.

So to start off we are going to have COUNTER JUNGLING. The task is simple, deny the enemy jungler the most farm as possible to force them to be a non factor while not falling behind yourself. We are going to assume the enemy jungler is a Warwick who we know is going to rush a Devourer enchant and is a gold 3 player while the rest of his team is slightly better than Intermediate Bots, as is yours (meaning they know what a gank is and they know to walk/flash away, and MIGHT ward while farming semi-efficiently). As soon as he hits 6 he is going to be able to gank easily. To give the best chance of winning you must shut him down early. You are not allowed to just camp lanes to snowball yourself. You have to counter jungle him. (Yes you can invade and kill him if that is part of your strategy)

The champion pool you are allowed to pick from is: Khazix Nunu Shaco Udyr XinZhao

Also if you want to add to this by posting your own "face-offs", or just suggesting some, post it in the comments here as well and I'll add the link as well as credit in future ones of my own if I like it ^_^

My Personal Vote is for Nunu.

Nunu is not going to die in a 1 on 1 scenario with warwick in the jungle, and in the given scenario it is not likely for the enemy team to properly collapse on you. Nunu has great control with his Q in counter jungling and doesn't really fall off since his primary function is Objective control and Zoning with his ult (which he gets naturally tanky enough to do so with very few items). Of the 5 given he is the most likely to be getting a sightstone in his build meaning he can setup his own deep vision, allowing him to know where Warwick is and steal camps accordingly. He is not going to Kill Warwick so you have to be on your toes to steal camps and not let Warwick get to your own.

Nunu is not the most likely to win that game as he doesnt exactly "carry" hard compared to someone like Shaco, but I feel he does accomplish the given task the most effectively P:

In terms of Warwick in a straight up duel, he has a few weaknesses #1: he has no Crowd control without 6 #2: of his two main abilities for offense one has a large cooldown and the other does small amount of damage. #3: prior to getting Deverour's the only bonus damage he his is from his passive which is +9 magic damage per AA at 3 stacks notes about dueling WW First of all: WW is mana intensive, and while he won't often go low in the jungle, stealing his blue buff severely hurts him. Second: a level advantage over whoever you're counter jungling is advantageous THIRD: CC is necessary to stop him from running away especially if you're at 1/2 health and he is level 4+ Study: WW's summoner spells, personally i prefer to run Ignite/Smite, Exhuast/Smite Ghost/smite as to flash/smite. However if WW takes Flash/smite, CJ him, without ult or skirm's he is a TERRIBLE duelist. Ghost/smite, an oddity of mine is to pop ghost after taking red or blue buff to quickly take the other buff before the enemy jungler can get there ward his jungle but don't invest too heavily a level advantage means he will have double-buffs and will out-duel you Exhaust/smite: if you can bait out his exhaust without fighting him you'll win, but in a straight up equal level fight you will lose against him, unless you're shaco Ignite/Smite: same thing as exhaust only this has a high likelyhood of killing you if he's 4+ and he can just kite and escape.

People who win in a 1v1 against ww on equal levels pre-six using only base abilities Kha'zix with his void spikes and isolation passive has higher bonus damage than Warwick, plus he buys items that scale better than AS do initially as well as recieving HP from void spikes and considering he has 3 damage abilties as to WW's 2 probably will die if WW takes offensive summoner Nunu: In an auto-attack based fight which warwick is forced into after using Q snowball SEVERLY negates his W, and blood-boil means he AA's more than WW dealing more damage as well as having a slow preventing WW from escaping. Nunu also counter jungles well and is strong in the early game. If WW takes offensive summoner Nunu probably won't die Shaco: With his boxes decent mobility and slows the damage from back-stab is fairly high and crits are severly painful in the early game, also considering that if WW took an offensive spell Shaco can use Q do be unseen during the duration, and, as most shaco players carry ignite which is WW's strongest weakness aside from AA slowers, Shaco will win nearly every duel. Udyr: as stated before, anything that stops WW while his W is active will severely weaken his dueling power, but it really depends on udyr to win the duel, if he has skilled Tiger/bear he has demonic dueling and catching power, vs Pheonix and Bear, which gives him decreased dueling power but a higher effective counter-jungling capability. if WW takes an offensive summoner, its entirely likely Udyr will die. Xin-Zhao: Always nervous when talking about xin-zhao because he tends to build deverour as well which means he has weak stages like WW, however the sustain from W matches most of the sustain WW gets, and the Q from Xin does more damage, his E slows which means most times WW can't escape, however if WW has taken an offensive summoner, Xin will die.

Soooo... basically, if WW has an offensive summoner spell aside from smite, he will win a lot of matchups however, he loses pretty much no matter what against Shaco. Nunu. however without the Offensive summoner (which is uncommon anyway) Warwick loses pretty much all duels pre-six, and if you've Counter-jungled him enough will continue to lose all the duels post six as all those champions tend to fight better than warwick in a duel early game.

ok what i would do is probably pick shaco, i would start my top side buff then take his top side buff and wait for him there when he comes to do his second buff i would attempt to kill him with the help of ignite and my boxes. i would then proceed to practically live in his jungle and then solo dragon at about lvl 6 with boxes/clone which is about the time he should be lvl 3 or 4 with what ive been doing
