While I understand you are going for a joke, I really need people to know that this isn't true.
A Lich is an undead or near dead mage, so think of Karthus. A bane is a cause of great distress. So lich bane is the item that causes great distress to liches. Which is odd because most people that build it don't do well versus a Karthus.
