Someone go post this on the DOTA2 forums :D
Yeah dota players seem to hate LoL with a passion where LoL players tend to just be 'uh-huh whatever'. All i know about dota is that it uses the clunky int/agi/atr system from war3, its snowbally as hell with gold loss on death and games are won at champ select with hard counters galore. That and its complex, which hasnt appealed to me as LoL has plenty of depth without having to devote attention to last hitting my own minions.
They are different games, and the 'complexity' dota is supposed to have just looks horribly un-fun to me, but some people like snowballing and dominating because they picked the right champ, i like comebacks and turning things around. each to their own
Sounds about right. Funnily enough While DOTA fans find League inferior and many of us tend to think of DOTA as the MOBA for 'serious' people, I've been playing SMITE the past few weeks and it feels like the SMITE community seems to feel like League is the serious one. I and a couple other players actually got scoffed at in Conquest yesterday for being confused because our teamcomp didn't follow the basic meta. "This ain't SPL, nerd! Stop tryharding!" "...the other team is doing it the way we thought it was supposed to be, what are they?" "Stupid Tryhard nerds! Stop talking! Muted!" Pretty sure he was trying to cover for the fact that he screwed up the lobby entirely by instalocking Mercury and not pointing out where he was going....
But yeah, it is kinda fun sometimes to watch the rage. Especially when you point out simple things that League does BETTER and they get cranky or can't defend themselves.
I am a dota player but honestly, I like League much more because it provides more rooms for plays.
i look dota 2 and cant imagine being both good and having any sort of life what so ever.
i think i've see seen this meme before
Hey League of Legends fans....

Dota fans turn on RAGE active
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
faster summoner !
I've played DoTA and I just don't see the attraction. I like some of the features like the character customization, stat level up, and such. But I think it is pointlessly complex. People have already mentioned the clunky stat system, I would like to expand on how snowbally the game is. You are penalized for dying because death isn't punishment enough I guess, and then you can buy yourself back so if you are a hyper snowball carry and the enemy team all executed a perfect plan to kill you TOO BAD I just bought myself back to life with my mountain of gold. And then the shops in the jungle ensures that if you are cornered in your base you have little chance to get the more powerful items and come back. Tl;dr Dota is excessively complex and can be decided in 5 minutes.
I play both I love both Its akward when i have to chose a side. Im a luna/lion main in dota
I think the biggest reason League is better than DotA (In my opinion, and I play both games and I must say they are both good) is that DotA has many more variables that are CHANCE RELIANT. (I.E. Evading) This can really frustrate players when the odds aren't in their favor. League has very few variables like this, so it's much easier to predict what will happen or make plays without too much unreliability.
I rather enjoy both games. They both have their good sides, they both have their downsides. For example, DotA actually has counterplay to point-click abilities, namely Disjointment. If I'm playing League, and there's a Brand Ult coming at me, it's going to hit me, but if I'm playing DotA, and there's a Lich Ult on the way, I can disjoint it by, say, going invisible if I'm playing a hero that can do that (And there's a lot more stealth in DotA than in League), or by using a blink. On the other hand, if I'm playing DotA, and I picked Riki, and my opponent picked Slardar, well then I'm doomed, and no amount of skill will stop that, but in League, if I'm good, then I can counter anyone, no matter who I'm playing. In DotA, playing a carry feels more rewarding, I think. A carry in DotA can 1v5 late-game. However, in DotA, playing a mage feels less rewarding, because after level 16-17 (out of 25), I won't be doing much (with a few exceptions). In League, on the other hand, mages can scale just as well, if not better, than the ADC, and no-one can 1v5 unless they're super-fed, and even then, only a few champs can do it.
I CRIED
Seroius! this isn't even more then one page long yet?
ikr. it feels more fun since dota has all these actives while lol you load up all your stats to take one down
There's a vocal minority as bad as the other in each community. MOBA communities make cancer a lightweight.
Why? I don't get it?
you realize this is lol fans when dota is brought up right?
dota's community to me anyways appears to be more relaxed, skillful, and mature, they dont sit around talking about league of legends, half of them probably dont even know it exsist.
i have brought up league in plenty of games, where players just say what is that? btw, i play both.
I play both and i can say League is better. The main reason is in Dota 2 the community is BAD. Almost anything that happens causes someone to rage while league the game is actually fun and you can have fun do crazy stuff like AP
or AD
. Also there is a HUGE language problem ... sometimes i queue into a match where everyone speak spanish.
Ive played just about every MOBA and this is so true its funny especially Heroes of Newerth kids get super mad when you mention league then proceed to feed and leave the match.
lol. i can't even play dota. my intel i-5 3317 has a base of 1.7 ghz and can turbo to 2.7... dota needs 2.8 so.... i have to upgrade my desktop -.- runs to best buy i do wanna try out dota at least once.
XD
I've tried DOTA 2, and it sucks in comparison to league.
