My reaction to a Velkoz player when he hits me with a full ult and it only does 5% now.

Yes the Diamond Velkoz main has no idea what he's talking about.

Straight numbers wise it looks like more but it's actually not in practice. People rarely get hit by the full beam and when they do, it still does less than the old one because it doesn't proc his passive and the large number takes a pretty big hit from MR. True damage has the benefit of not having to worry about resistances so his old ult always did respectable damage to whatever target it hit and most important didn't need to be set up with a difficult to land 3 hit spell combo to do it's true damage. It became very situational. Before you could tag someone with the beam for 3 ticks or so, get to procs of the passive and do a respectable amount of damage. Now if you just tag someone with the beam briefly it does almost no damage. Squishies will move out of the way and because they will be protected by their front line, you can't land your 3 hit combo to set up the true damage on anyone but the tank. And while you may be doing true damage to the tank if you land the combo on him, it's still at most like 2k damage on an HP pool of like 5k and just doesn't feel good.

The strength of his ult before was that it didn't require set up and could be used to deal damage to the front and back lines equally. Now it's become more situational and all around weaker. Please don't talk to me about not knowing what I'm talking about. There's a reason Velkoz's win rate tanked a huge amount since the patch and even with 120+ games, statistics on champion.gg says he still doesn't break above 50% winrate. That's horrible compared to most champions with a rewarding mastery curve.
