That's interesting, but it leaves out Fizz and Teemo, and saying "anyone who has anything to do with Ionia" is a really broad scope. Ionia is a messed up place, because until the retcon comes out, half of the island got destroyed and totally annihilated by the Noxian invasion. Having half your island taken over and losing half your population with it has got to put a damper on life for most Ionians.
Ionia's schtick seems to be overloaded kits with high mobility and complicated mechanics. Even the older ones do more than their non-ionian counterparts be default. Ex. Akali throws her Q then dives in for instant burst. If you live she can gap close to you two more times and her smokebomb gives her defenses and a few ways to creatively juke... compare to Talon who can gapclose to you ONCE, needs to pop a spell or two after doing it to burst you (since his E does no damage) and needs to pop his ult to get out afterwards. Nevermind that he's mana restricted and she's not, or that his ult telegraphs the way he fled.
Ionia tends towards champs that are manaless, mobile, and bursty. Is anyone shocked that they're regularly considered OP? They're the nation of #LCSBIGPLAYS.

Every Ionian but Karma get insane mobility and "outplay" potential. People get mad when they get killed and doesn't want to accept the fact that their opponent migt be better than they are, nor they are "honorable opponent". I myself always give out that honor for anyone who was against me top or mid that won the lane without jungler help.
Seriously though, every Noxian is also a powerful pick against Ionian.
Darius will wreck any top laner that is an all in melee and let him reach in range
Vladimir will destroy any sustain tank that have no all in capability such as Malphite
Leblanc is Leblanc, nothing much to say here
Swain is great in extended fight
