honestly I'm not liking anything about this patch. I just keep in mind that any changes made to armor Items that suck, Riot will re-buff as needed. if the changes to Garen Skarner and Darius make them crap (hypothetically speaking), they can adjust their stats to where they will be just fine. But Mordekaiser ... he's screwed... no amount of stat changes that will repair the fact that you can't solo with him anymore, nor fix the fact that the abilities that would have helped him bot lane are replaced with ones that make it so he will get kited to death.

simple fact riot: Range > melee with no gap closers or CC

it's not a buff when a move you didn't need an ally to use gets turned into a move that won't even do damage unless you are close to the teammate you cast it on. Not to mention the cone on his Q that gave him some range is now just a 3 hit buff that you might not even get to use if the ADC kites you/ the enemy support has any form of CC.

well his new move set makes him worse off bot than his old one does. where he had his shrapnel shield that he could cast on a minion to try to keep the enemy at a safe distance, he now is forced to only use it on an ally and only does damage if he's close by (so it's initial use is gone). His old Q caused a cone of damage what would have given him some range, but now that it's 3 empowered hits, he can CC'd or kited to where he won't have time to use it (he is really slow after all, not to mention it will be telegraphed just by him trying to get close). and to top it off his Solo lane is gone, even more so since his new passive only gives him full xp for killing a minion... which he'd get solo lane anyway. bottom line is they took a good mid and instead of doing this and making him a top lane champ, they forced it so someone has to lane with him to get full benefits and use of his W, which he can only get bot lane. All of that's not even talking about that stupid map specific dragon ghost and the fact they remade him from the ground up without even a model update.

His permaslow on W, which will be insanely easy to use with an engage support? or his 1.5 second 40% slow every time he hits you after getting in range? Or the 650 range ult, which still outranges Draven, and slows for 10 seconds?

With Rylai's of course. Draven may end up being a negative matchup for morde. Seems likely. But don't make absolute statements like that. When he gets the slow, its going to be pretty easy to catch up to Draven, and most other ADCs. If you really want to counter Morde, pick Kalista. THEN he's useless.

You act like Draven would be the ONLY AD carry I would play. Aside from the fact that any range that Morde has is only on his abilities, he has to worry about being attacked himself. Its not like he'll have free reign to do free damage. Its not a 2v0. The enemy ADC and support will be doing damage as well. On top of that, Morde's passive, while having some effectiveness, will be hardly recognizable once the ADC gets Infinity Edge+ an AS item. Another problem when playing Morde is that you'll lose that ranged damage on turrets,and god forbid the enemy jungler is better at objective control than the jungler on Morde's team.

The problem is that an ADC who isnt as strong as Draven early will not be able to punish Morde enough to stop him from gaining an exp lead and calling the dragon, which his team has a definite advantage in. I'm not saying "NEW MORDE IS OP TOO GOOD LOL U DUMB." I just want to point out that its not as bad as people are making it out to be.

In place of ranged damage on towers, you can have one of several mid laners who can do that, or you can get a dragon, which can brute force towers very easily, or you can go for and/or bait baron to start a fight.

Lets say you are level 10. On an average adc, thats about 1200 HP, 50armor, 30MR. If you have IE + an AS item, its pretty easy to assume Morde will have Trinity or Rylai's, and some components. Lets say this Mordekaiser rushed a Rylai's and Ninja Tabi, put 2 points in W, then maxed Q. At level 11, this would put him at 116AD and 100AP. His Q at this point would do about 1200 damage across all 3 hits, not counting his auto attack's damage. Which would put that at about 1500. Add in his ult and there is no way that ADC isn't dead. Fact of the matter is if for ANY reason Mordekaiser gets to you, you are dead. It may be a rare occurence, but it WILL happen at some point, either by a heavy engage support or by jungler gank, or by him camping a bush out for you, and you will by mutilated.

This also assumes Mordekaiser is a full item behind you. A Rylai's is sufficient to catch the majority of champions.

He has all the tools he needs, even when behind.

I have played plenty of mord games, enough to know this new setup screws him over completely. I don't know how it's going to treat him bot lane, but that's because he was never made to go bot to begin with. I KNOW for a fact his solo lane is screwed due to the fact his W is gone and he has little range otherwise. most mid champs have CC or a ranged poke of some sort, most melee mid champs have a gap closer or some kind of poke to harass for safety. Mord had little for range to begin with and was saved by his shield and the minor range he has from all his moves. He might be good bot, he might not. Frankly I don't care. Most of the community doesn't care. All we want is to be able to play him solo without being handicapped from it. It's an insult that riot decided to take a champ made as a melee option for mid to test out some stupid experiment to see they can make a melee ADC bot. If they want a Melee ADC, they can make a new champ for it, It's that simple.

This community seems to think that the only bot lane that will work is a ranged ADC with a support or an aggressive AP support to the point you people are religious about it. Yet nobody got upset when Nid was given the power to jungle if she wished or when fizz leaped into the jungle, but suddenly they want to shake up the adc bot lane and everyone magically has standards or have become elite mord mains in a single night.

You claim he won't work in solo lanes anymore, yet you have to proof of that, no stats to back up your claims and what stats there are from the PBE Indicate that you are 100% wrong yet you act like they don't exist.

In short this has never been about Mord, this has always in reality been about the traditional ADC main and interestingly enough most of the people who object to this tend to main ADC on their account.

Not really, I main 2 top champs and 2nd a few support rolls. I've seen what happens when a melee has to face a ranged champ, it turns into a turret hugging session till the melee champ uses a gap closer or CC to fight back, both of which mord does not have in either of his kits. and I don't need stats to back up my claims, but if you want something, look at soraka.

Before her rework, she would go mid on occasion and do fine. After they reworked her, people stopped taking her mid because she became nearly useless unless she has a teammate near by. There wasn't as much a problem because that's what she was made for anyway. With mord, they are getting rid of what he was made for to test something that any long time top player can tell you is a crap idea.

You do have a point though, this isn't about Mord. If it was, riot would have left him alone and made a new champ for this experiment of theirs, one that would have a kit that would work bot lane. But instead, they are taking a champ made for mid and making crap changes because they want to focus this "melee ADC" thing. If they didn't want to make a new champ, There are plenty of melee AD champs that could fill the role better since they have cc, gap closers and pokes.

They don't care about mord or people who invested time into him, and no, I don't main him, but he IS one of my favorites and I can understand how bull shit this is to people who do. If riot decided to take my main and throw him into Bot lane with a completely different kit, requiring someone to help you, you can bet your ass I'd be throwing more salt than a salt truck after a snowstorm.

stat changes are pretty simple actually, take a little bit of power out of his Q and put it in his E's scaling so he has stronger poke and shield generation

make W selfcastable and make it work independent of the AoEs connecting, get rid of the dragon ghost and spread that power to his base stats or something

and boom, he's a solo laner now

I really like Siren/Mythic Cass and OotL Karma :3 You don't like any? I don't particularly enjoy any Kennen skin though, they're too simple and almost (or exactly) like a Chroma.
