How odd to get into such a technical discussion in linguistics with one from EUNE. ^^ But I remembered to use a dot at the end of my sentence. ;)

I use "type" when it's keyboard specific - which in retrospect would have been the most accurate in this case, I will admit - but I consider "write" to be allowed both when it's regarding making letters with either a pen or keyboard.

You write both when using a keyboard or a pen, but in this case it wasn't the writing that was the point - it was how it was done, and yes..."type" would've been correct here. "Many type with only one hand, but only a few write with both hands."
