I found this thread again, and felt a huge wave of nostalgia. We should seriously bring back this amazing sport! Credit to kingcobweb for the original post on Reddit.

Are you a support main? Do you get frustrated trying to support Vayne players? Are all your friends sick of hearing your sob stories of what your last solo queue Vayne did?

Well, turn that negativity into something positive! This is an introduction to the brand-new sport of Vaynespotting!

Here's how it works: when your Vayne does something extremely Vayne-esque (or "Vaynes out,") you get a certain number of points based on what happens.

The scoring works like this: points for action your Vayne did, multiplied by... the number of enemies they did it into, multiplied by... what they gave up to do it, multiplied by... what they said in chat about it afterward.

Every action, cost, and chat statement has a different multiplier value!

For example: say your Vayne flashes under their tower 1v3, dies without getting the kill, and blames your team's jungler. Let's score it!

FLASHING IN: 2x TOWER DIVE: 2x THREE ENEMIES: 3x JUNGLE BLAME: 2x ...for a total of 2x2x3x2= 24 points! NICE VAYNESPOT!

FAQ

Q. What chat statements get multipliers? A. Not every possible Vayne statement has been said, so some are undetermined! Here's a quick table with some examples:

"I'm done": 2x "Gg": 2x "Afk": 3x "Bg": 4x Any statement blaming the toplaner: 4x Any statement blaming the midlaner: 3x Any statement blaming the jungler: 2x Any statement blaming the support: 1x (no multiplicative value, as this is assumed) Any statement taking personal responsibility: 0x (your Vaynespot is now worth zero points! Oh no!)

Q. What if I'm supporting a Graves, and they Vayne out? Does that count if it wasn't technically a Vayne? A. YES! You've encountered a Transvayne. There's nothing wrong with that, and we as a community need to be accepting of players with different champion identities from us. First, determine whether they were truly Vayneing out. Did your Karthus walk into the middle of their team to instantly die in a chokepoint, so that he could ult and kill four of them? Not a Vaynespot! Did your Lucian dash into the middle of their team, flash toward a low-health enemy, die without killing them, then say "gg no peel?" Vayne spotted!

Q. What about the Vayne on the opposing team? Can I Vaynespot them? A. Absolutely not. Their Vayne is really good.

You're not supposed to tell them you're Vaynespotting them, fool. You're not supposed to say anything. Making them angrier would ruin the whole point of it. It's supposed to be natural.

It's like the control group in an experiment. You need to see how something reacts without additional stimuli.

Your first mistake is assuming that anyone calls it out in game.

I Vaynespot by myself and for myself, my aim is to win, not to tilt my own teammates into playing (in some cases) even more poorly.

I knew about Vaynespotting before this but IMO, the more people seek negativity in people (like vayne players) the more likely they are going to think negatively of them. (Obviously I could make a really big hyperbole to explain more but for this I don't wanna make a bigger shitstorm)

It just results in what Vaynespotting is trying to mock

Obviously in the grand scheme of things you're right and posts like yours shouldn't be downvoted imo bc it's important to remember this is a joke. But you do come off as a lil bit preachy and this is the memes and games forum and since you admitted you're a vayne player you're gonna get lots of hate sadly. But you shouldn't worry about it bc in the end you're right!

Although, you're wrong about how vaynespotting doesn't make anything better. I'm sure people, myself included, feel much better when their vayne fucks up and they laugh about it because of this meme as opposed to being salty. Do you see what I mean?

Yeah I know what you mean, but what initially starts out as a meme can end up being malicious. As long as people don't impose it on other people then I have no problem with it (it's the other circumstance I mean by that it doesn't help the Vayne player or the Vayne spotter). If I'm playing well anyways like I'm supposed to I shouldn't worry about it, rather than being another story people base their biases off of (I guess I failed that here).

Gonna actually one trick Vayne just for that :D Vayne summoner 4 into 5 of them uses level 7 mastery "GG no peel noob supp and noob jungle never gang and noob top" "retardd team" "RETAAAAAAAAARDS" "I'm done" starts trolling, executing into enemy turrets, baron and whatnot, buy tears and mobi, buy redemption and waste it on baron when team isn't doing, buy thornmail, go full ap, etc etc... "Afk" "BG nabs" actually disconnects

I thought "vayne spotting" was seeing the enemy vayne and instantly ulting them. Specifically with a cc heavy ult burst combo like Vi MonkeyKing Warwick Malphite etc.

So if I spot a Vayne flashing under tower for a Pentakill causing the enemy team to surrender resulting in Vayne saying "gg" as good sportsmanship, does this net in 2x2x5x2=40 points? I think I've gotten the most amount of points possible from a non-toxic Vayne player... ^.^

EDIT: Just checked the replay and she did not actually Flash so I only get 20 ;-;

The prize for 40 points from a non-toxic Vayne is still up for grabs!

The first Vayne I saw had a score of 52 until she blamed mid lane, then it shot up to 156 at the end game lobby.
