[RESOLVED] 10/9 Players unable to login

All signs are pointing towards logins working again. Looks like one of the backend systems responsible for logins briefly went down, which caused players to be unable to log in during that time.

Everything seems back to normal, but we'll be keeping an eye just in case we notice more errors.

At ~6:11 PM we saw an increased rate of errors when players were trying to log in, particularly players from the east coast. Investigations are underway and we'll keep this thread updated with more information

Confirmed East coast issue. VPNing to a West coast endpoint got me logged in. Then I was able to disconnect VPN and the client re-synced connection successfully without kicking me out.

Hey! topCyder from the subreddit and discord here.

Thought I would toss the reports we have been getting.

From what I can tell, its mainly East Coast, and everyone who has confirmed an ISP has said Verizon. I am still asking users who are reporting it to let me know where they are from and what ISP they use.

I experienced these issues on 10/5/17, I have not been able to login all day today. I'm on the west coast, have never had problems with lag or anything until these instances. Is this related to the eat coast problems? Or is it some how a coincidence? Please help

I wish they would allow the mobile app to send push notifications saying when there are issues with your areas server/client so youd know when to NOT rush home and try signing onto league :( maybe in a future update :D[sg-jinx]*

I've been having this problem for a few days but originally experienced it while in game with heavy lag and eventually tried to reconnect but couldn't log back in. The next day i was able to sign in without a problem, but later in the day i couldn't even log in, and I havent been able to ever since.

I was in the middle of a game and disconnected. I cannot reconnect right now so if the game ends and i get a ban, can that be removed? Summoner name- LookAtTheBunny

Getting "Unable to connect to the authentication service" starting tonight. Played fine last night. Reset router, ran Hextech Repair tool, no fix. On the east coast.

I just kept trying and it finally let me log in. Didn't change anything I was doing except came back 20 min later. I am on the east coast and have Comcast Xfinity.
