I absolutely love
, and I think he's a secret weapon. The thing that people mess up about him is 1) they build for his passive too much, and 2) people assume his W isn't that great of a skill. Bulwark is the ability that just makes him a monster. 90 armor and magic resist means an extra 45 AP, along with an insane heal that scales with ability power. With Galio, I go 9/21, stressing magic resist and health with a little bit of AP in offense. I start with a double
set up and 3
,(Sometimes I go
and 5
if I'm vs a heavy AD mid, like
) and I always start Resolute Smite (Q). His skill order should be R>Q>W>E, and maxing your W second means that at level 13 you can actually heal from tower hits- that's how much resistance you get from it. Idol of Durand is an insanely good ability, and you can cast Bulwark and
while in the middle of it (Bulwark makes it hit that much harder, and you heal like crazy from their reduced damage auto attacks. I love opening with a
, and then getting
, finally ending my early game build with a
. From there I almost always go offensively- if I can get away with it I rush a
to a
. If I'm against an AD mid I always rush
,
, and then get my
(again, his passive is nice, but if you don't need magic resist don't rush it!) If you aren't doing well,
and an
work wonders with him, as they add a lot of tankiness and also give you a little more damage. If you need armor don't be afraid to go with
- realize that if you have magic pen it's passive will hit even harder, and the damage reflection is calculated before the reduced damage from your Idol of Durand. If you are skilled with it, you can go with a
and blast that after your ult- the enemy team will most likely try to pick you off and the extra few seconds can save your life in many situations. I don't take him top usually because I feel that there are better champions to go top with, and Galio usually isn't very good against tanks. If you can pick him vs an assassin mid or an AP with a DoT (damage over time spell) such as
,
,
, et cetera, you can wreck them with Bulwark which will heal you so much. Also don't be afraid to go vs a melee assassin mid with him, not even a
can deal with a Galio that builds smartly and stacks some early armor. I've even found him a great
counter not in lane, but in team fights. When Fizz jumps into your team you just ult- it pulls attention off of your carries and it gives them two seconds to just destroy him. In lane you're susceptible to out plays with Playful Trickster and his heal reducer from Seastone Trident, so I'd just farm and wait for ganks.
Always remember to buy some wards, let your team know that you are one of the best team fighters in the game, and don't move after you ult! Best of luck comrade.

I've been trying him out as a Support lately, with great results. I don't think he's OP, but he can definitely be very strong is certain situations.
