So, what's a light fighter?

Long time ago, i've heard that Skarner's rework was meant to make him a light fighter. The light fighter direction seems also to be the same taken by the future Fiora rework, as i've heard earlier. So i'm trying to understand what's a light fighter in this game, how do You differentiate between light, medium, and heavy fighter classes? Does this differentiation depends on stustain, mobility, or damage? Thank You for paying Your attention to this. Enolagay45

Lux Leona are both 'light' fighters

This is actually a very intriguing question. My first thought would be that Yasuo would be a light fighter, but then he has defensive capabilities. Giving ANY fighter such a specific classification and light, medium, or heavy would have to depend on a specific criteria; otherwise we would be left debating the topic for months!

Personally I don't believe there is a good ground for a 'medium fighter' but my own rule of thumb is simply a 'light fighter' builds and plays closer to an assassin but can 'dance' around a teamfight given the right conditions (i.e. Yi, Yasuo, Fiora) and 'heavy fighters' are meant to go in and stay in, becoming just as much of a damage sponge as a damage dealer (i.e. Renekton, Nasus, Mundo). Essentially (imho) [light--->damage>survivability], [heavy--->damage=surviability]

Light fighter: Yi

Medium fighter: Jax

Heavy fighter: Malphite

malphite relies on pretty much sheer defenses to survive in an engagement. Jax relies partially on sheer defenses and partially on skills to survive. Yi relies entirely on skills to survive.

That is how you define a light fighter-- what do they rely on to survive? If the answer includes "Some amount of resistances / passive durability boosts" then it isn't a light fighter.

I'd love to hear an official response on this actually.

Riot (and players as well) frequently tosses around a lot of terms for groups of champions, but they frequently aren't referring to the champions I would think they are.
